This is exactly what I went though. The instructions were not very clear on the installation. However, after a couple of calls and picture exchange withe support, I was able to successfully install the it. Now my question is, what are the brackets for and should I be calling to inquire about getting a set to install. If they are now included for safety issues, then I should probably get them.
Let me know if you reach out to them, I’m curious as well.

I am going to reach out to them today I think. It concerns me that even though I registered for warranty, they something like this has not been communicated if it is a safety issue.

Sweet. I emailed them last night. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Speak to Rebecca. She got me squared away with the Ranger specific instructions, some new shims, and the black brackets that prevent twisting and reinforce the rails. 734-926-2658. She even expedited the delivery at no cost.

This is how mine is done, just remember this was a cover for a Colorado originally, NOT a Ranger. I haven't had any issues, although I don't think I'd stand on it.

Regardless the would contact them and get the bolt-on brackets. Then you only need 4 clamps and it’s super strong and secure. If your clamping the soft steel that’s gapped from the plastic rail caps... it’s gotta be all squished up... the brackets fill the gap with hard steel.

Likely you can buy them. Like my experience with the first one, they designed those brackets after the initial ranger application rolled out as using clamps alone isn’t safe.

My original BakFlip almost flew off the truck.

There's a 1/4"x1" piece of aluminum that runs the length of the bed, that is sandwiched between the bed rail and the tonneau cover rails. No problems.

Next step is to add a 1"x3" piece of angle steel to the bed rails and build a rack for a tent off of it. Then the cover will go on it.

Just installed the Revolver X4. The install videos I watched did not show anything about a bed accessory rail or the four brackets. Found an X2 install video on YouTube on a Ranger showing the bed rail accessory install, but nothing about the brackets. Those brackets provide a stout connection between cover rail and truck wall which is quite thin. I have a Rhino liner and had to clean out the holes up front to get the bolts to thread. All the "extras" came in the box along with "Ranger Supplement Install Instructions".

We’re you able to get the rails to mount flush? The slight bend in the bed rails makes the revolver rails bend inward causing my covers’ seals not to fully seat. Really annoying for a $1k tonneau.

In fact opened a claim with Bak . Sent pictures. We'll see what happens.

Hi All- I just went to install the x4 revolver on my 2020 Ranger 5ft box. When installing the rear accessory brackets (near tailgate) The bolt affixed to it is too large for the factory drill hole. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice that does not include any drilling/ widening of the hole? My first thought was to just use a slimmer bolt, but the bolt affixed to the bracket is not meant to be removed.
