Anyone have this tonneau cover? This is the one I'm targeting right now but since it's pretty damn expensive for a tonneau cover I want to make sure I get as much info as I can before buying. I need a hard cover for security and to support weight on it, and this rolling cover really appeals to me.

How do you like it?
How does it do with keeping water/dust out (with/without tailgate seals, etc.)?
How was the install and how well does it clamp to the rails?
I haven't really found confirmation on this -- does anyone know if this cover is compatible with any racks for lumber/kayaks/etc. or if it would rule out that option completely?
Where/when did you buy it from and price? The lowest I've gotten down to on a quote so far is a little bit over $1k out the door, not sure if I can get lower or if this is a good price.
Any other thoughts/info?

Much appreciated.

Hi TM,

Love it....Bought directly from Bak. Dust seal is needed for the tailgate. Paid under $1K. Over 2 years old now....

best,
Phil

I purchased and installed this cover shortly after taking delivery of my truck. It’s been on a month and I really like it.

I have had basic soft covers. Good for cosmetics and keeping out the elements. But most of us like some security.
I’ve had the BakFlip on my last three F150’s. Liked those at the time. But they are bulkier, the sections are heavier thus harder to fold/unfold, and blocking the rear window was annoying. If the cover was open, it meant something large was in the bed, and I wanted to keep an eye on that. I also don’t care for having the cover lean against the glass.

The Revolver is much better for my needs/wants.
The install was easy enough if you are somewhat mechanically inclined and have a socket set. Even easier if you have ever installed a cover before.
It does have rails, and it has those pieces that stick out from the rail a couple inches right at the tailgate.
The Ranger also requires additional plates (included) be installed at each corner of the bed.

I get water in the bed at the tailgate. The rest is pretty good. I am happy to wait while others work on finding a good working solution to this issue.

I am quite happy with the performance. Easy to roll up, doesn’t block the rear window - total rolled height is well below the top of the rear headrests. Looks great. On a recent trip to the mountains, my girlfriend stood on it to take some photos. I’m not sure I would load the 400 pound rating on it. Good to know it is sturdy though.
I have not had to remove the roll yet. From putting it on the first time, the weight and size was manageable. I do plan to epoxy some small clips to the underside to hold the straps. This way they do not hang into the bed and will also roll up and be right where I need them if I am securing the roll in the open position. I have already added bed lights. The rails are the perfect mounting surface for LED strips.
Phil was nice enough to measure and I can also now confirm - a Yeti Tundra 105 just fits beneath this cover as long as you only have the spray-in bedliner.

The price is the pain point. The last BakFlip G2 I ordered was $1,100.00CAD in 2018. I paid $1,350.00CAD for the Revolver X4S in July. I budgeted for it when I decided on the truck. I plan to keep this ride for 5-7 years. I was comfortable with this decision.

Thanks Phil, based on timing I'm guessing you got the x4 -- my understanding is the x4s is an upgraded x4, just released this year. But I'm guessing they're pretty close, if anything the x4s is better. Glad you love yours

Great info, thanks for sharing. I've never had a cover before but installation shouldn't be an issue, just don't want to drill holes in the bed and want to make sure it stays on well. Has yours loosened at all in the first month of driving with it? I've read that a lot of these covers can loosen over time and you have to keep tightening them, which is fine but good to know about if so.

Do you have tailgate seals and it still leaks? I've read that those can pretty much solve the tailgate leaking issue so if not and there are no leaks elsewhere that's good to hear.

Mine has not loosened. Mind you, I did not have to use many shims. Just one each at the 4 corners, nothing in the middle. I believe this is the culprit as they compress. I also got those clamps square, very high and very tight.

I do not have a tailgate seal. I have seen mixed results from those using them. And, they get in the way. I may add one of somebody finds one where the benefits outweigh the detriments to my satisfaction. Not crucial for me right now. I just assume stuff in the bed will get damp and dusty. The cooler and plastic totes go near the tailgate. Bags, tent, chairs and other at-risk items go towards the middle.
