So I recently bought some Baja Designs S2 work/reverse/scene lights but came to a problem when it came to the wiring.

They include a kit to splice the reverse wire but when I took off the tailight the wires didn't match up. I watched a video but no one has done a video with the blind spot monitoring set up.

I tried to follow the instructions and find the Blue wire which there are 2 of and one says its the 3rd from the outside so one matched it and once I spliced it. Put everything back together and now I have a blind spot fault cross traffic sensor fault. Lights also dont work either.

Has anyone installed the Reverse light S2 kit on their ranger with the Blind spot tech on?

I spliced into pin#5 for the left & right reverse pwr. If the lights draw more than a couple of amps use a relay and trigger it with the signal. Don't go by the stated wire color, use the pin number.

Thank you so much! This would of been more helpful Both 5 and 11 are blue colored and now I know why the blind spot is bad. I hope I can just buy another OEM harness to fix the Blind spot system since I didn't know that was going to cause a fault.

Worse case I could just not buy the harness that lets me hook it up to my Aux switch and call it a day.

Having a lot of splice work into my tail lights for my rack lighting I can tell you the above pictures definitely do not match up 100% and I have yet to find any diagram that does.

I have a few wires on my tail light that were cut and reconnected in trial and error. Thankfully out of all the wires I had to splice into, that only occurred two times. No big deal, but amazes me how some basic information on a mass produced vehicle can be very hard to find with any form of accuracy.

On my tail lights not only do some of the pin numbers not match correctly, but the color codes were wrong as well.

Why buy a new harness? Just splice back together the wire you cut.

I just wanted another Harness incase I messed up badly lol. Seems like the right wire was the light blue one and not the darker blue wire so thats something good to know.

I've noticed a lot of people saying its not always the same wiring on the same vehicle which is insane to me. Actually looking at the picture, the LH harness seems off because on there, it says 9 not in use but when I just looked at mine it was definitely in use.

Yeah Im going to try it again later, Im going to have to cut off the splice and add some more wire in to fix the Blind spot wire so it stops giving me a error message.
I'll probably not use a splice and just cut the wire and solder it and shrink wrap it after and call it a day.
