There was interest about the two recalled items for S/CAB.

Update.

Originally I was told my Ranger delivered on Jan 11 had both recall completed. My sales rep asked for inspection and the maintenance dept inspected the two recall items and said the passenger side item was completed and the rear sear issue was not.

Repair tech called and we scheduled a repair on rear seat issue visit for following Monday.

Monday when I brought truck in, that repair tech was out sick and another tech pulled up the truck on computer and insisted the recall had been completed based on notes in the file. I insisted he check further and still insisting it was closed issue. He groused and indicated he would leave note for the guy who had called me. So sorry for the wasted trip.

Tues morning the first tech called and said the recall repair was certainly still an open ticket so appointment the following day.

Wed morning when I brought the truck in they were sorry for confusion. But, I saw an opportunity to have them install the tailgate locking bolt I had purchased and intended to install. Since they had inconvienced me, they said sure and it would be gratis (free).

All went well except it tool two guys almost two hours to install that bolt system. They struggled and when removing the tailgate, made a very small scratch on the gate at bottom that I would never have noticed. But, they were honest, touched up with paint and no complaint.

Lesson on all this is if you have a model with these recalls, make darn sure they really do the repair as the maintenance guys at my dealer were uncertain just what the computer system was indicating.
