I have driven my '21 all around the country and trucks are always spitting rocks, I am lucky to have not needed new glass yet. I try to drive far behind them but sometimes it is unavoidable and aggressive super dutie hotshot drivers without mud flaps overtake etc.

I ordered this one with my Ford points but now that I have it I can see it only mounts with 3M tape so I am reluctant to apply it. I have seen things like this on the new Broncos, but thought it still screwed under the hood like the clear acrylic ones do. It does not, just tape.

Does anyone have experience with this or recommend something better?

I have this exact same one - it wasn't what I was expecting, but it has been on for over 4 years now and doesn't show any sign of being loose or coming off at all. It works pretty well. The only thing is that needles, etc get caught in the upper section - and water collects as it runs off the hood. But neither of those things seems to have affected its adhesion. If I didn't have this, I'm pretty sure the front of my hood would be pock marked at this point.

Edit: I meant to say that I've been pleased with how it works and looks even though I wasn't too fond of its attachment method. Time has said it works well.

Yeah, I have some pockmarks already and don't want any more. I guess it is worth a try then.

I have one, too. It hasn't shown any signs of coming loose after 2 yrs. Keep some 303 on it to keep it pretty and you'll be fine.
@AzScorpion would approve ?

One thing about the Rock deflectors is they deflect them to my front window. I have not had much of a problem as I don't tailgate and try and hang back enough. Replacing a window is probably easier than a whole bunch of chips on our hoods. I have one of the AVS ones and do like it.

I have an AVS deflector from Amazon for mine. Attaches under the hood.

They perform very good. I have had one on my Edge since 2016 no issues, key is prepping the surface before sticking on, Have one on my Ranger and F150 no issues. They are the AVS brand

Where did you find a clear one? I haven't seem clear ones in years. How is it attached? The smoke ones don't look good on white trucks in my opinion.

I stand corrected…I bought a shaded one and had it painted on the outside and then used XPel film protection.

Thanks for the update. Interesting thought though, have it painted on both sides then apply Xpel or Laminx on the outside.
