Moisture affects it. Start to get the slightest bucking. Once I figured out the cause, I change it pretty early on. It's a piece of cake.

Any service done on the trans? Just curious. Or any mods or tunes?
Changed the fluid and filter at 70k. Added the Ford Performance tune before that. Really only a "cold" weather issue.

Are you replacing it as a preventative measure?

Basically, yes. The bucking is subtle. There's a long thread on the issue here. I replaced the first one at 46k. It was not subtle then, but that was how long it took for me to figure out what was causing it. Now I'm hypersensitive to it so I change it early.

2019 Lariat. 36K miles. A couple of recalls (heater blower and something with a connector on a tail light) early on. The heater/AC blend door issue was taken care of by Corwin Ford here in Spokane without any issues under warranty.

About a month ago, I was pulling out of the garage and got a loud warning about low oil pressure. Looked ahead into the garage and saw the crankcase contents on the floor. Shut down the engine promptly and had it towed to the dealer. The tech that diagnosed the problem found that the wrong oil filter had been installed at the previous oil change (NOT done at Corwin Ford, but another shop I have worked with for 20+ years.) The correct filter was installed. No damage to the engine and all is now well! The oil change shop took care of all my expenses incurred, owned the mistake, and will continue to get my business for oil changes.

I tow a small Sherpa camp trailer (less than 1500 pounds loaded) during the summer. The Ranger is my only vehicle, so it gets a lot of around town driving, too. I love it!

I have a 2019 XLT bought new Nov 2019 and have had zero problems. I love this Ranger after owning a 2006 ranger which I also loved.
At my age I expect this to be my final vehicle and am glad that this is the one.

2020 XLT, a little under 20k. No visits to a dealer and only problem was the roof moulding peeling at the front on one side. Removed remaining paint and used vinyl wrap to cover, has held up well. Truck parks outside, so far everything still good.

I have a 2019 with 114k miles, the only issue I’ve ever had with the truck was at around 100k it would buck and surge at low speeds, ended up being the DPFE sensor which is a common issue with the rangers. No problems since.

I have 2022 XLT Supercab Sport 4x4 that just hit 28k. Absolutely no issues so far, big or small. I guess that doesn't bode well for the future...

I read all the messages of people having all kinds of problems with their ranger. Really discouraging. I have a 2020 Ranger XLT with 17k on it,

Anyone got a few miles on theirs without problems?
2020 Lariat. No issues here!
Only issue i have had was a failed update that screwed up my radio.

I fix motorcycles as a hobby and I'm on at least a dozen sites for various makes/models and I'm an admin on the Honda 600RR site. The two categories that see the most action on all forums seems to "problems" and "mods."

To a much lesser degree there's "news" about the vehicle but there's usually not that much of that to talk about.

I almost didn't buy an Acura TL some years back because half the posts on the forum seemed to be about the failure of the Nicasil piston coating and how you have to replace your engine 'when' it fails. Not a single issue in 150k miles and insurance totaled it after an old lady ran into it last July.

Anyway, my '19 XLT has 33k, routinely gets 28mpg on the highway (24 if I'm towing a bike and trailer), failed to start one time after sitting for two weeks, and a couple times a year when it's cold the initial shift into reverse is a bit abrupt. That is all. Oh, and the autostart/stop rarely does its thing (only works on long trips).
