I don't think that is the case at all. Heads rolled over the last time they discontinued the ranger. They need to compete with Canyon, Colorado, Tacoma and soon the Dakota.

More or less, It is a unibody truck. I don't know that the payload will be very much, it seems to be more of an inexpensive fleet alternative.
