You could get a USB extension cable and mount it behind the panel below the steering wheel. That's what I did with my carplay dongle.
That panel is already loose from a ill fated ditch lights switch install. At least I don't even need tools to take it off. lol I'll check it out. Thank you!

I zip tied it to the metal framework behind the panel. It's been fine for over a year.

Duct tape, zip ties and mechanics wire.

No heating issues like some of the reviews show?
I saw those too but it could be their vehicle or even a faulty batch of them. One good thing about Amazon (even though I don't like them) is you can return anything within 30 days for free. I've bought several things that had so - so reviews that turned out to be great. Even bought a couple things where even Amazon had a label on it "This item is often returned" which worked out fine. For $20 I might try this one too and then see how the one @a6m5 works out for him.
