With all the Midsize trucks on the road that don't need 10 ply's and the extra tire weight, That tire makers aren't offering a better option than heavy LT's.

I want to keep my 18's and haven't bought new tires for this reason.... Searching/waiting/hoping for options to come along.

General Grabber A/TX comes in a 275/70/18 in a rating that would be what you’re looking for. No white lettering however. This is a tough size as I want to buy for my OBX Bronco when (if) it comes in.

So after tak8ng a quick gander for tures in that size good luck getting a tire that isnt an LT to begin with. Not something to understand, just because the tire is an LT doesnt mean you will have too heavy of a tire. There is the load rang as well and as i like to mention not all tires are made equally. I myself went with Firestone Destination XT's in 285/70-17 and they are load ramge E. The tires still have a good ride to them and they are also lighter than the BFG K02 amd General Grabber ATx in load range E. I understand not wanting to go too heavy of a tire but be aware that with going that big will create a lot of weight by itself. Even if you think you are doing mild OffRoad why not get a tire that can handle the extra just in case?

Side note, I do have a complete write up in another thread about tue Firestone Destination XT's if your interested in taking a gander

Lol so I just did a weight check for the Firestone Destination XT in the size you want vs what I have!! The 275/70-18 is lighter than the 285/70-17 by 2 lbs each tire. The 275/70-18 weight 49 lbs each. K02 weighs 57 lbs each and Grabber ATx weighs 61 lbs. My 285/70-17 Firestone XT's weigh 51 lbs each.

Now yes that is still some extra weight over stock bot I can already tell you the Firestone wont take away from you ride quality and MPG like the K02 and Grabber ATx.

Just some food for thought

So stock tire on the Ford 18" wheels is 265/60 at 30.52" in diameter.
Your looking for 275/70 at 33.16" diameter... as others have said, this size is all LT

If you are willing to go to 275/65 at 32.08" diameter you'll have much choice... Firestone Destination XT and General Grabber A/TX are but two ... Pirelli, Continental, etc. Some LT, most not. 19 with RWL sidewall.

The list of 19...

PS: The non-LT tire seem to go from 38 lbs to 43-ish lbs... LT are 49+ lbs
