I caught Covid last November - I had driven out to our country house and she called me to tell me she had tested positive after not feeling well.

So I got tested next day and yep - following day got the results as I began to run a temp. Tele medicine, contact free pickup of some meds and groceries as I've had a few go 'rounds with pneumonia in the past and I basically laid around the farmhouse and slept getting up for hot tea or bone broth for about nine days. Lost 12 lbs. When I felt well enough drove 550 miles back home, neither the wife or I could return to work until we stopped testing positive.

I gained the weight back (beer!) over time but the fatigue took two or three weeks to shake off.

Now I donate convalescent plasma for critically ill people, though I don't know if immunobodies to original Covid are effective against the mutations. Guess anything that overcame mRNA vaccination is a different beast, although reportedly I'm at least as immune - maybe more than a vaccinated person to Delta as far as I know.

His doc's response seems hopeful but ill informed. Maybe one of you in contact with him would be willing to distill and pass the message on to him. https://www.washingtonpost.com/heal...9a0b5e-0029-11ec-a664-4f6de3e17ff0_story.html .

If he's had symptoms for a week, then the monoclonal antibodies treatment window is closing rapidly on him (10 days).
Our hospital has been giving this since January and has had good results. I was told if symptoms over 3 days, not eligible. According to this, it’s apparently changed, which is good.

Bit of a twist…. I have received word from the ? Free the Dampers ? underground that Dave has been targeted for “reconditioning”. As proof, they have provided the evidence below:

They have assured me that he will fully recover from his current disillusioned state.

Hang in there Dave, clarity is near!
That was my first guess when Dave went awol, that he was kidnapped the resistance and subjected to brainwashing. Expected he would reappear all bulked up from being forced to lower tailgates without assistance from a damper.

Instead he'll continue to display his damper toned arms.

I will say I haven't heard a peep about this in my area. Of course that's par for the course (I'll just leave it at that for fear of being banned). :)

Marc, my vote for Vice-Poobah in the Grand Poobah's abstentia would be for Al @Texasota. We have seen his aquiescence to the all powerful tailgate damper. He has admitted that his adversion to said tailgate damper was ill concieved, and has prostrated himself before the master. His humility, and humbleness toward our exhaulted leader proves he has no other designs to the throne. What say ye......

I feel Rick @Trigganometry understands the void left by our supreme leader is vast, and Al would be but a mear speck on the legend that is Dave @AzScorpion
Oh come on, I was monetarily overcome with grief for Dave and his covid predicament. You know how people say things they don't really mean when they are under stress... You don't want me to be Vice-Poobah as I would immediately try to save you all from your wicked ways.

I love my Slap Chop...use it all the time to cut up peanuts for Pad Thai. Fun stuff.

I feel a bit triggered that this site is against German engineering....ya know they make the best stuff.
1 It was a joke
2 I'm not against German engineering or anything else German
3 I had no idea it was from Germany
4 I do not represent this site
5 Carry on.

I never participated in a forum until I found this one while researching the Ranger and saw the helpfulness.

Thanks to all for winning the good humans award on this thread. After the last two weeks of the news and experiencing a family loss a little over a week ago, the empathy, care, and humor on this thread lifted my spirits - from the internet no less! Well done.

Stay safe and best wishes to all.

-Mike
