With the push button start you can't set your mirrors to extend automatically. You need to be able to retract the mirrors and turn off the engine. With the key in accessory position push the mirror switch. When you next start the vehicle the mirrors will automatically extend.
This is incorrect.

Just because there is no key, that doesn't mean there is no "acc" mode.

Park.

Fold mirrors in.

Push button to turn off engine, notice radio and such remain on, indicating "acc" mode.

Push mirror button again.

Open door, radio turns off indicating truck is fully off.

Close door and lock.

When you start your truck the mirrors will fold out automatically.

So I currently have a 2023 Lariat Tremor with 500A on order. I'm beginning to have second thoughts because of the uncertainty of getting the LED headlights and fog lights. It's pretty much the only reason I ordered the Lariat. And I would hate to have to walk away and start a whole new order. I'm considering dropping my order to an XLT Tremor with 302A. It would save me $1500 which would probably end up being the cost to upgrade to LED headlights after the fact. Not really interested in any of the aftermarket LED headlights. And I would probably go Diode Dynamics for the fogs.

So outside of leather seats, push button start and power folding mirrors, is there anything major I would be losing by dropping to the XLT with the 302A?? I know there are some smaller changes like ambient lighting and body colored exterior bits. But it seems like most everything else standard on the Lariat 500A is included in the XLT 302A

Did any of you regret going with an XLT over a Lariat???
I had a 19XLT Sport, a 21 Lariat FX4., and now I have a 21 Lariat Tremor. A few things. The headlights are no comparing the two. The LED is just the bezel around the head light. They are high intensity in the Lariat. Sliding window on mine is manual. Whaatt? All the seats on the Tremor are the same, XLT or Lariat. You get some Tech on the Lariat you don't get on the XLT. Sound system on the Lariat sucks. Killer ride in the Tremor. Fuel millage best I have got at 70mph was 22mpg with a tailwind, usually 19mph to 20mph. Would I go back to the XLT? No. I had the option and went bigger. Hope this helps.

That is not true. The XLT Tremor has vinyl trimmed seats, the Lariat Tremor has leather trimmed seats. Both get the Miko Suede inserts. The Lariat seats also have contrasting color stiching and a leather trim piece through the middle of the Miko Suede. On the XLT you have to get the 302A inorder to get a power passenger seat, all Lariats get the power passenger seat.

Question.... How can you tell if you have fake engine noise?
Is it on all Rangers? I had heard about it, but if my STX has it it must be pretty subtle.
Should it be unmistakable or obvious?

I looked at a XLT in Tx where I bought my Lariat. Could have swore they were the same. Been wrong before. Thx. I looked at the option of changing headlights all that, just didn't think it was worth it.

Depends on your hearing. It was obvious to me. After I turned it off, I hardly hear the engine unless it is rev'ing about 3,000-4,000 rpms.

Zero regrets.

I was looking for a particular set of options and I had my choice narrowed to a Lariat and the XLT I bought.

Since I don't care for leather or pushbutton start and I'm one of those who just don't like the Lariat gauge cluster, I went with the XLT 302A.

I have folding mirro; 2019 XLT.
Yes.

I believe this is something that Ford has removed over time.

Your XLT 302A has power folding mirrors?? As in your push the button on the dash and the whole mirror folds in???
I have a 2019 and mine also has the push button mirror option.

I honestly don’t give a crap about anything the lariat has except LED lights. It blows my mind that in 2023 a mid level mid size truck can cost you $40,000 and have halogens.

Sure makes me happy, I may not have bought my Ranger if I was required to buy LED , let alone contemplate the replacement cost at about a hundred times the price of halogens which are arguably better. Even if they were .... say 90% as good as LED, ...how does the novelty justify the cost?
I understand that LEDs are cool , heck, so is a Bugatti Cheron which will get you to WalMart just as well as my Ford at only a hundred times the price....
But then, where would you put the groceries? :giggle:

A very fun fact. LED headlights can last over 30,000 hours.

Another fun fact... the original lights on my 2001 Ranger were still working fine after 18 years (when I sold it) except one of the driving lights which was hit by a rock!
My Shop has LED ceiling lights which were supposed to last 18000 hours. Not a single one lasted a year of intermittent use.
OH!, and I'm confident that my Ranger would outlast the Bugatti if they were treated the same.
Still I understand irrational "needs"... I have too many of them to fit in my garage! ;) :giggle:
