Were these late year snow storms! All my friends and family have said this winter wasn't to bad, some cold spells and very little snow. Now here it is mid March and they're losing at a potential Nor'easter which could dump 12"+ over some areas. The area I was in WMA could see up to 18". o_O

These use to drive me crazy as you're getting ready for spring and then one of these hit. I know they don't last long as the days are longer and the sun is higher but it's still a pain to deal with. Of course everyone will run out now and clear the shelves of bread and water! ?‍♂

Meanwhile here it's been sunny and in the low 80's these past few days. :sun::tumbleweed:

They keep throwing out the bombogenesis label for the headline potential. Funny when we had the blizzard of 78 they never used that term and it shut down Boston for 5 days!
WCSH 6 in Portland plays this annoying armageddon background music and they go into " STORM CENTER " mode like it never has snowed before in Maine.

Come on Dave
Compared to what the rest of the country's been going through this winter, New England has been paradise.
Floods, 10 feet of snow, tornados ... nope, none of that.

So now we finally get some snow, and they'll just put 10.000 tons of salt on the roads, so I have to wash my truck.

Big deal.
We have water :^)

That's me!!? I'm not afraid to admit it. lol

But I never liked it there ever since I was young, I've always been a warm weather person. The only reason I stayed was because of the business and I didn't want to start over. Even though that's what I eventually did here but by this point I didn't have to work full time so all in all it was worth it.

Glad you like it there I hated it. This was just one of many things I didn't like dealing with especially having 250' of driveway to take care of while working 60+ hours a week. So I made a choice to move which was the best decision for me.

As far as natural disasters go it all depends where you live. That's why I chose to move to an area that doesn't get any of this in the valley. Sure it's hot in the summer for 3-4 months but it's still better than most places. The more I look into relocating the less areas I find that I like or that are safe.
but your water situation is enough to scare away a camel........

OMG they do this here but when it rains. I know we don't get much rain here but every news outlet has "Breaking News" when it rains. Then they'll show some reporter standing out in the pouring rain and a car will come by and slash her. ?

Only in some area that are unprepared and mismanaged. Here where I live they have very strict regulations on having the aquifers filled. But water is overrated anyways.

It is beautiful up there and in Maine too. Some of the nicest country/scenery I've ever been in was up in Northern Maine snowmobiling around Eagle Lake/Fort Kent. For me after 50+ years of dealing with the snow amongst other things I hated it was time to leave. Having a 250' driveway seemed like a good idea when I was in my 30's and built the house. lol

As the old saying goes there "if you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes it'll change". Which is so true.

When it snows in the Sierras, the TV stations always send some poor reporter up to stand in the cold, wet, windy snow and report to us, yep, its snowing..

I live in the NEK section of VT. They are pridicting 2-5 for us, but they always suck at predictions...
Mud season is ligit, unfortunately, we've had 3 already.
Neighbor let me try out his snowshoes, as I've never used them. Came in handy as I was walking through woods today, deciding what trees needed to come down. Before these, I was walking in up to 3' of snow in the woods.

Kent you're slipping. When I saw you quoted my post I was really expecting a "Have you looked at Payson" comment.??

Originally from Southern NH, this is only a March storm, it was the April storms that annoyed me. Still miss the snow at times though âť„?

I remember back in the mid 90's they kept saying we were going to get hammered with a nor'easter on April 1. We were like ya right! They had already had the street sweepers come by and the weather was nice and starting to warm up. Wouldn't ya know it they were right and we got buried with 14" at my house.
