I'm still mulling over why a fuse would blow when your unplugging the wires from the back of the controller.....
But, also thinking that instead of replacing the fuse in the fuse panel every time, why not splice into the 12 volt wire a correct fuse/fuse holder that would be easily accessible. That fuse would sacrifice itself before the under dash fuse would.
