From the internet:

HD radio generally simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information. HD Radio is used primarily by AM and FM radio stations in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines, with a few implementations outside North America.

If you tune your radio to a station that is broadcasting HD stations, a HD symbol with appear on the screen. Pushing that will change your radio to that channel.
I do understand, and when tuned to 104.3 the HD indicator is lit, but there are no additional HD stations indicated for 104.3, such as 104.3 HD2 and HD3, so there is definately something going on with the unit. Most of the time I listen to Amazon music, but the other day I didn't have my phone and this is when it all started.

I am wondering if HD radio stations are not catching on. I haven't even looked for it on the Ranger. Probably because I mostly listen to talk radio now, where HD would be useless.

I travel for a living and I've rented more than a dozen Ford Rangers over the last few years. I can't recall that any of them had HD radio. I'm not saying that HD radio isn't available on a Ranger, only that it is very uncommon. I'm guessing that it's only available with the B&O system. I did have that in one Ranger, but I don't remember HD radio.

If you didn't miss it before, you'll probably not miss it afterwards... at least not too much.

I rarely listen to the radio. I pipe my own music in via a USB flash drive. I pipe in Movies on my 2005 Ranger with an old $100 Android radio. I got GPS, bluetooth, and a backup camera with it. Been working great for almost 10 years now. We actually prefer to the synch system in the Ranger.

Actually, as good as HD radio sounded, you really have to have a good clear signal. I remember it coming in and out a lot.
