Lift measurement question...

Looking to see if my logic (and math) is correct.
I have a 2021 Lariat FX4.
I will be upgrading the suspension to the Fox 2.0 tuned.
The suspension should give me an additional 2 inches (setup right out of the box)......also looking at going with a 265/70/18 tire.....which is 2 inches taller than the stock 265/60/18.

Am I correct in assuming that my truck will be 4 inches higher front and back?

You are close but not quite sir. Even though the tires might be two inches taller than the factory for total diameter in reality it's only the radius which is half the diameter that really counts for the extra lift you get from the tires. So in reality the effective lift up front would be 3 in and the effective lift in the rear would be 1 in. Does that make sense?

Thanks. After I posted ... I thought the same thing. That I would only get the radius of 1 inch from the taller tire.

My truck has Bilstein 5100s, no lift in rear. 2 inch lift in front to almost level, I have a short garage header. I measured at the top of my stubby antenna and at that spot I only went up a half inch. Not going to add the last inch of level lift until I go from 265 18 to 285 70 17 then measure my clearance.
My trucks a 2019 Lariat FX4 with the 18 inch oem wheels.

Did you go with the 1.8" setting? If so, do you have any pics which depict the "almost level"?

We did the 1st band, I think it's a 1 1/4"? Then we added a 1 inch plate at the top so its between 2 and 2 1/4" lift , I chose a hybrid combo so I didn't loose out on ride quality. If I can go up more there is a lower plate that mounts under the shock so I don't have to drop the spring assembly again.

Ahh gotcha! Thanks for the clarification. It seems most people are sticking with either the 1.2" setting or going straight to the 2.5" setting. I think 2 inches is perfect.
