$82.58 for an air filter? You guys are nuts.
It's expensive. But it's cheaper than buying mishimoto filters. I don't believe in washing and reusing. You may think I'm nuts and you can have your opinion I don't give a crap. If I had a stock box I would use a motorcraft. For the f150 I use all cheap stuff but this is my toy.$82.58 for an air filter? You guys are nuts.
I would ditch that K&N Mark.....I ran one for about 50K and I'm convinced they are not good for our turbo system on the 2.3L...i prefer motorcraft or wix. avoid fram seems to be the trend. project farm on you tube has some really great air and oil filter videos with a lot of info / comparison.
i have a k&n in my 5g but simply due to it coming with the ford performance pack for the ranger as the recommended filter. i also clean it and oil it way more than the box says as i dont trust its filtration ability.
I had no idea the cost of those, especially the Mishimoto air filters. Hopefully for those prices you are seeing noticable gains in HP or fuel economy. It's expensive. They are expensive because of the ability to wash and reuse. I just replace it once a year. I start rally racing with the truck soon so I'll see if I get significantly more dirt in the filter.I had no idea the cost of those, especially the Mishimoto air filters. im certain the stock paper style stop more dust and dirt than the k&n. but at this point i dont think i will have the 5g to 50k.I would ditch that K&N Mark.....I ran one for about 50K and I'm convinced they are not good for our turbo system on the 2.3L...
I also run a tune (not Ford) and I believe that you can't use any extra airflow based on the off-the-shelf tuning. So why have anything other than the factory filter.....it gives plenty of volume.
went with one of these as I installed the Ford Tune, comes with a K&N but didn't use, and a Borla Cat Back SystemWell it’s almost time to replace my air filter!
what reusable filters do you all recommend?
Or do you all prefer disposable ones?
let me hear what you’re using and what you likeor maybe don’t like about it
GO….,..,
Sadly, I may be done with Ford products after the 5g with their new marketing strategy. I'm not about to pay these additional mark-ups so the dealers can cash in on the new "no lot inventory" situation.im certain the stock paper style stop more dust and dirt than the k&n. but at this point i dont think i will have the 5g to 50k.
