I experienced a strange behavior today with adaptive cruise. It also happened earlier this year, but I wrote it off at the time thinking I was imagining things...
I was heading down the turnpike with adaptive cruise at 81. I noticed at some point that I seemed to be getting a little closer than I should be to the Nissan Pathfinder in front of me. The distance setting was max, which is four bars. Four bars of distance is noticeably far back. I kept watching, and it progressively kept getting closer to the Pathfinder, to a point where I was uncomfortable with letting it go any more. The cruise indicator did NOT show a vehicle ahead (truck icon at bottom, with four bars over it). I hit Cancel, then Resume, then magically the indicator showed the vehicle above the four bars, and the truck actively backed off with a bit of brake.
I'm thinking this is a software issue since a Cancel/Resume cleared it up. Unfortunately I don't know how to reproduce this, so trying to open this will a dealer service dept might be difficult.
Anyone experience anything like this?
