some planes just seem to last on and on and still be useful. the buff b 52, c130, f16, a10, dc3, several Cessnas. to be fair the a10 ish newish vs. some of the others on the list but honestly i see it holding its value for many years to come.

They keep trying every year to kill off the A10. There is nothing in the inventory that can do what it can.

id be sad if they did. I think at one point they did mothball most of them and then ended up taking them back out and updating them when they realized they really needed them. Thankfully ive never had to be the guy on the ground that needed close air support and too dang old at this point lol but i can imagine if i was in that situation an a10 swooping in would seem like a saving grace.

They keep claiming that junk F35 can do CAS. I'm calling BS on that.

seems like a lot of platforms are getting multi roles in recent decades. im sure that is great budget wise, less parts etc. but for its intended purpose the a10 would be real tough to beat. i dont know much of the f35. is that the one that most of the friendly nations also bought ? joint strike fighter program or something like that?
