Good morning all,

I have about 97K on my Ranger, and I'm having an odd problem I cannot figure out. I noticed that the trail control button on my 2019 Ford Ranger does not work, it gives a see manual error. Additionally, the orange status LED on my door locks is not working.

Now only the driver's door unlocks with the fob or lock button on the truck. I do have Forscan and got this is as the only trouble code present.

Code: P166B - Drivers Door Status Correlation

Additional Fault Symptom :)62):
- Signal Compare Failure

Status (-0A):
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Antilock braking system

Has anyone encountered this before? I am stumped. It is going to the dealership on the 24th but I'm hoping for any information out there.

I think that your driver's door closed and locked latch switch is not working. The ABS system is looking for the driver's door to be closed and locked. That is also the source of your P166B code and door lock light not working. See the electrical diagram below.

Thank you! Do you think if the driver's door switch is not working, it would keep the other locks from working as well? That might explain why trail control is not working either, as one of the conditions for it to work I believe it needs all doors locked like ABS.

If none of the doors lock, I would check fuse F24 in the Body Control Module (BCM) fuse box under the steering wheel. It might be blown.

The ABS module is looking to see if the driver's door is locked. Trail control also uses ABS, so it makes sense that the door not locking would affect trail control.

I just changed fuse #24 and all the lights returned, it seems to be working and the trail control button is functioning.

Thank you!

If it blows again then there is an issue with the Door Latch circuit, that powers the actuators.
Any one of the (5) if you have the Tailgate Actuator.
My first suspect would be the Tailgate, as it's exposed to the elements.
More than likely not a wiring issue but an actuator that is drawing high amperage to move it.
