We've been moving and although our Ranger was Bulletlined before the bed was used, no dents have occurred yet.

I'm guessing if you're tossing in sledge hammers or pallets of cinderblocks it'd dent, but 99% of uses shouldn't cause dents with a good bedliner.

This is why truck beds are double walled, so inside bed dents don't show on the outside.
Was it the old Datsun or Toyota beds that were single wall and all of them looked like crap after 6 months ?

Both, though you didn't worry about it with the Toyotas as the rust holes looked worse than the dents.

Allow me to mansplain the shit outta this for ya'll. Old vehicles were made of thicker mild steel panels, these resist door-ding type dents to a degree. Todays vehicles are made of HSS high-strength steel or UHSS ultra high-strength steel. UHSS especially is the thinnest but actually the strongest (using a heat treatment it has better shear strength etc, but dents more easily).

Oh yeah? What would a collision repair instructor know about body panels?

Yeah, the bed dents easily. That pic of the dent is my bed times ten, or 15.

The bed does dent very, very easily compared to my old 1980 f250. And the paint scratches and scuffs like its mache paper too. Oh well, dont make them like they used too. Wait till you put 100lbs on the tailgate and see how it bends! Haha. Haven't done that yet. But, my car is nice and cozy and painted nails and purty.
My Ranger is the flannel wearing, calloused hand, log splitting, deer lease driving, back hoe towing, Ford F@%&?!Ă— Ranger!

We should do a show me your 5 ft bed pics thread. Only dents allowed please.

Lol

Do spray-in bedliners help to prevent some denting?
