I've got a bunch of crap hard mounted in the center cubby and need a cover. Thought I would integrate my HAM radio mic mount into it. Work in progress, but I am happy with how its coming out.

Shoutout to @Griffin_W for the base STL file to get started. There will probably be some redesigns and more items get integrated (not sure what yet, but... I have the freedom to do what I want.

I don’t think it matters that I’m just getting ready to dip my toes, because that looks legit!

And those examples that you showed, man I would be thrilled with those outcomes! I would feel like I could pretty much be able to customize like the complete interior, perhap the engine compartment, custom outlets in the bed, etc.

I mean limited by your imagination! (brackets for a smart home and the various sensors… Awesome holders for IP cameras. It’s endless).

Hopefully someday for me.

Congrats! Completely awesome!

If you are looking to jump in, Bambu is running their birthday sale. $200 off their printers and... that's a helluva deal. If you can make the jump now, do it.The P1S is fantastic.

I’m printing orange bases for my metric sockets. It’ll help me distinguish metric vs standard in the drawer.

That's a good idea, I would ask you for the STL but I already did something similar years ago by putting my imperial sockets onto a red aluminum base and my metric on a blue. I hardly have any use for the SAE ones any more as Australia has been metric since the early 1970's.

Our local Jaycar ( Australian electronics store like Radio Shack) had a filament sale on the weekend, it seems that they are switching brands, and selling off all the E-SUN stock close to cost, I stocked up for a few projects as you couldn't even buy it on line from E-SUN direct for what they were selling it for.

I printed a tool to twist the pins of my Maxtrax mount. It makes it a ton easier to twist them.

I also designed this mount for the baby camera in my truck. I hated the suction cup window mount. Printed at 100% infill using ASA. Its held up great so far. No sagging, no drooping.

Good Idea!
I tried printing some "soft PLA" to make a door stop to wedge under shower swinging glass door, but I'm having trouble getting it to print without the extruder catching a loop and winding it up. Note this is a direct extruder printer too, not a bowden (a really reliable 8 year old Prusa clone) I didn't even consider trying it with my bowden printer as it's really flexible. I'll try my other printer with a direct extruder as it has an all metal hot end and maybe I'll have better luck with that one. Then I'l play around with temperatures and feed speeds.

I find ASA brilliant, most of the benefits of ABS without most of the warping problems and better UV protection. But contrary to popular belief I've found PLA+ to be far better out in the weather than people give it credit for. But PLA is not so good for intruck use, not with our summer temps anyway.

I printed a part in for in the truck out of PLA+ and it held up great until is warped hard. The truck was at the dealer and sat outside for several days. PLA couldn't handle that.

Yes I printed a new sunvisor clip for my sons Kia Sportage, which similarly held up well all winter but warped come summer, particularly as it is a black car.

However I made some PLA replacement rubble drain grates after one of ours got clipped by the ride on and broken, and 3 years later they are still holding up well out in full weather. I printed them in bright blue so they could be easily seen if a storm pops them out of the drain overflow. ( the originals were grey)

Similarly I made a couple of PLA+ sprinklers for our home sewage plant because I was sick of having to remove the metal ones and back wash them every time the nozzle got blocked. The new ones have a screw in back which you can unscrew with a coin and just wash them out, they also don't corrode.
They've been working well with chlorinated waste water and out in full sun for a year now. I made two sets of spares in case they didn't last but I think I may never have to make another. Also for some strange reason these seem to never block - I think maybe the metal ones used to corrode internally, creating a rough surface which used to catch small debris until it built up a blockage. Certainly I used to have to replace them every few years because they would eventually corrode through.
