I see a road trip in my future. ? ?
It is in the eastern part of Iowa, and I'm not sure it is worth the few extra hundred miles of road trip. I drove past it last summer. Maybe I should have stopped in.

It's best to go late at night because that's when the weird happens lol. It's reminiscent of the Rocky Horror Picture Show sometimes.
Well sir, it looks like I'm going to have to stop by there on the way to pick up my Bronco. Maybe I can pick up a T-Shirt for Zach @Zach@granger . :)

I was actually just thinking it would be a good place for a weird Ranger Rally. Everyone show up and then act like we have no idea why there are other Rangers there.

After quite a scheduling wait, we finally got some more Ranger VINs assigned yesterday! Production windows for those orders were the last week of January and the first week of February for anyone curious on order timinig.

That's good news Zach. I'm sure this has been answered, but I can't find where. How long do y'all plan on running the 3% under on the Ranger?

We'll continue to keep it open for 2022 model year then re-evaluate for 2023.

Thank you for the quick reply Zach. That gives me time to decide which way I want to go. I'm hoping for some good news from Ford concerning Bronco allocations early next year, but I don't expect it to happen. If not my plans will lean toward a Ranger Crew Cab.

Kinda, actually really disappointing that they aren't offering the diesel engine options

Why?

The biggest option in the Aus redesign, the PowerStroke V-6, only offers about 260 Hp and 440 ft/lbs.

That torque could be fun.

But the current 2.0 Biturbo, 213/369, only tows about 7700 lbs, so is it really that useful?

Add in the cost/work of DEF deletes in order to do anything fun with them and I think modern diesels are dead in America.

Plus, I feel like towing capacity is maxed out in the current platform due to physical size limitations. I wouldn't want to tow much more than 7500 lbs in a truck the size of the Ranger, unless it was an oddly low/heavy trailer. The weight of the truck and the ability of larger trailers to act as a sail don't work well together.

Fuel economy would be the main reason for offering a diesel package (reported MPG is >40) almost double the 2.3 ecoboost, but one would have to evaluate the incremental cost of the diesel package against the life time fuel differential (gas vs diesel).

HP is close to what the stock 2.3 Ecoboost is putting out, with the torque far exceeding its gas counterpart.

I agree with your analysis in towing, nothing worst than the tail wagging the dog, while advertised capable, I am not sure I would want to be rolling down the highway with a large trailer behind the Ranger.
