soo i dont make threads like this but boredom at work got me searching for the fun of it and it turns out for the new tundra you have to pay 8 bucks a month (80 per year) to keep your remote start working... yuuuup its a subscription thing for a remote start that is rather basic its just a button on the fob like standard vehicles... no phone app no programed start times just a simple button to turn on and runs for 10mins then shuts off and you have to pay for it.... but yet ford will give out our stuff for free... i like toyota and always will but this is just dumb...

Nickel, dime the hell out of you! You see today Netflix announcement of in the next few days any account sharing will be dealt with harshly. So they’re doubling down on their mandates. Watch the exodus begin of another woke network idea.

I hate to sound like a crotchety old fart, but this whole subscription based services really aggravates me. If it was an app/internet based service, maybe. But just to pay a monthly fee to be able to use parts of the vehicle is crazy to me. I guess people that have more money than I do, will just pay it. I know some will disagree with me and that's fine. I won't be paying it.

Well that make 2 of us then Bob because it aggravates me too! It's bad enough vehicles are so expensive now and now they want even more? I mean what's the sense of spending MORE for higher packages? They're (the manufacturers) getting their money from the upgrade now they want even more. It'll be better to buy a base model and mod it out yourself.

ya i dont get it either i figured our app for our trucks was gonna cost something since its not part of the vehicle technically but nope its free to use... so how is something you have to pay! to install and something you already have in your hands (key fob) something you have to pay monthly on??

The bean counters are finding ways to delete items and add additional costs. :curse:
