2020 Ranger XL Brake Controller (Non-Towing Package)

Hello all,

I have a 2020 Ranger XL and it did not come with the towing package. That being said I added a 7 pin connector and a class 4 receiver. That being said, I have having a lot of trouble finding out how to install a brake controller. My model being the one that it is, it did not come with the 2-3 extra wires ran up to the steering column. I am looking for the best way/ways y'all have found to install this on your own. My dealership quoted me $2,000+ for them to install it and that's just out of my price range.

Side note: I do have a "Trailer Braking Module" installed behind the glove box (according to my manual and some digging I did on it) but know nothing about it.

I know that there is a wire pair under the LH tail lamp that carries 12VDC as long as ignition is on (normally used for Bed accessory power), from which you could tap "trailer power" to the 7 pin; and the wire loom that connects to the factory 7-pin has the wires you need but only up to the rear of the cab. I forget the color, I think grey and purpe-easily identifiable because they are not connected to the splice connector, those are "brake" and "reverse" I think. People with XL's have done it...look around in this forum; the info is already there
