The ambient temperature could also be a factor. Really cold temps could cause this. Also pay attention to which fob it acts up on. Maybe mark it somehow and switch fobs. Also pay attention to where it happens. There could be external RF (radio frequencies) that could cause this.

Thanks for your reply. This has happened on both fobs in my own driveway. I this situation I go the 2nd fob to start the vehicle.
It has also happened away from home on both cold days and warm days. In this situation I start via the center console emergency key start option.
In total to date this has occurred probably 6 to 8 times in total.
no issues since I posted this thread.
Also, today I finally decided to update my sync 3 to version 3.4.23188 from version 3.4.21194.
