After my last dealership Quicklane oil change I also noticed 2 missing clips. The oil filter was also barely hand tight. I noticed a slow drip from the oil chute, and when I finally managed to get to the horrible filter location I bumped it with my hand reaching for it and it spun freely...leery of ever going there for anything ever again.
I will probably start to do the oil changes myself. I do both my Subarus already. The Subarus have famoto valves. I need to see if there is one for the Ranger. That helps make the changes very easy.

I'm looking at the same. I got all the supplies ready in case it was a bad filter and I need to swap it, but thankfully a proper tightening was all it needed. Ready for the next one though, gives me time to shop around for a fancy drain plug.
What really got me is when I called and explained what was happening their response was "we're booked up for 2 weeks and can't check it until then".

On my 2022 the wheel well liner that covers the oil filter has 3 threaded fasteners around the top (10mm socket) instead of the plastic clips. I just whip them out with a cordless drill and fold the flap down to get full access to the filter.
