My 2019 with about 85,000 miles has a wrench light that is going on and off. I’ve noticed when it’s warmer, I'm running the A/C or driving on the interstate it tends to come on more. After the wrench light comes on, the check engine comes on later and gives me the P0299 code for underpowered turbo. The truck keeps running but I can tell the power is decreased and my MPGs drop when the light is on. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions about what could be causing this? Has it happened to anyone else?

only bad thing is you have to buy a turbo to get the wastegate which is usually the culprit

Is your engine air filter clean?

This is one of those codes that can be triggered by something as simple as a leaking duct or clamp on the induction tubing.
There are tests that can performed to confirm the Wastegate Actuator before replacing it and monitoring the PIDs for pressure readings.
Inspect all the CAC induction tubing, inner cooler etc. - Look for signs of oil residue.

Got this code this evening coming home from dinner date. Guess I’ll get it in garage in the morning. Only had 1psi boost and also got code U0429 which I think is just telling me hey you have some sort of communication issue.

U0429 is not related to the Turbo or Boost, its for - The (PAM) Parking Assist Module lost (Turn Signal Switch) status from the SCCM (Steering Colum Control Module) on the data network.

However, for them to be related the issue may be on the HS-CAN 1 network as the PCM's main Powerpack Torque Status and PAM are on the HS-CAN 1 network, that is the tie in.
I would check both Turn Signals for proper operation and clear any codes and run a (Self-Test) reset on the PAM and SCCM, hopefully it was just a glitch.
But with only the U0429 code that is being generated by the PAM, I would start there.

Edit: I think the u0249 has cleared as my tuner seemed loose on the obd and when I reconnected that code left. ?‍♂

My first post may have been a little confusing and wanted to make sure you captured the part where I did have the p0299 code as well and the second code was the u0429. My truck is the base model xl and i don’t think it has parking aid. I did however upgrade the center instrument panel (xlt model when I added the TM button for 4x4) about 4 months ago and turned all that stuff off through forscan. With my truck not having parking aid do you think that’s just a code setting in there stagnant and I just didn’t know it was there? My biggest concern at this moment is I have no boost which I am about to get up in the engine bay and start looking for anything that may have come loose.
I‘ll still attempt the reset once I find how just to be on safe side.
