While it says only Crew Cab in the Ranger brochure, I was finalizing my build order at the dealer and he was able to build a Lariat Supercab with 501A which includes the B/O.....he was convinced that we could order it with that package. The order was not submitted which could mean when he pushes that last button it will reject it, but he thought not. I am still trying to decide between the blue and magnetic for color, so we'll see whatr happens probably Friday.
My scab order has 501a. You pay the same as screw 501a but get the base audio.

Dealer agreed that if it did not come with the B/O then he would adjust the price accordingly. We'll see I tend to think you are correct especially considering the location of the speakers, etc. Couldn't really tell him he didn't know what he was talking about. The dealer build program is different than the one on Ford.com. I drove a dealer sway for them trading colors with another dealer and had about 400 miles to listen to standard sound system. Admitting that I'm coming from a Mark Levinson system in my Lexus, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Bass was a little too heavy but fine when I cranked it back a bit.

Has anyone ordered a ranger Supercab with the 501A B&O package and had it changed or rejected by their dealer. I have seen multiple and conflicting reports, videos, order forms, and check lists that state 6spkrs-7spkrs w/subwoofer-and even 10 speakers? If there is anyone on the forum that is actually putting these together, What are they putting in the superCab models. Is it B&O or something else? Thanks so much for any info. P.S. dealer was not useful
I have posted down this thread but just ordered my Ranger - Lariat, Supercab and 501A, so this is some new info. My order was processed with the 501A, the dealer says that he knows best and in xx years of selling Fords that if the Ford order system takes it then that is what will be built. I repeatedly have stressed that I will want compensation if I don't get the B/O but just get the rest of the 501A package. Dealer says he knows best.

Another interesting fact. The initial brochures that dealers got are different than the new/current ones. The original brochure had a note that 501A wasn't available on the Supercab - but - that its not there on the new brochures.

Go figure.

We'll see - I'll be most interested why you can order it, the brochure doesn't exclude it, the dealer insists if you order it, it will come...etc. As i have posted I tend to think that you can't get it but I feel it is worth a try.

The docs have some pretty clear asterisks that you can order the package but on the scab it doesn't include b&o. That part makes sense, because there's no room for the sub behind the seat in the scab. (Now, that doesn't explain why they can't include hd radio, or why they can't adjust the price.)

Well as the Op on this thread I have to divulge that I just took delivery of my Lariat super cab and It does not have a B/O system, although in the more confined space I really like the sound of the installed system. Ford did not reduce the price on the package and won’t on the invoice so I am not sure what can be done about it. It turned out not to be a deal breaker for me after I heard the sound!

I did a follow up call to ford today and they confirmed B&O wont come in the SCAB. I asked why the same price for 501a if no B&O? After waiting on hold they came back and said sorry about stereo upgrade but then said they would give me $500 in marketing customer cash good til 7/2/19. Whatever customer cash is?

Good research! I was able to change my order since I had just placed it. $500 is better than nothing but as we know the difference in the 501A and the other technology package is $1000.

Kind of late to the party here, but the info on this thread has been very informative. Earlier today, I finally had my "wait, what?" moment, and realized that B&O might not be available on the SCab. :( Anyway, before finding this thread, I compared the configurator interior views for the Screw and Scab; I was relieved to see a "supposed" round badge (I'm ASSUMING the round thing is the B&O badge; perhaps someone that actually owns one can confirm?) on the dash speaker for both cabs (when I deselect 501A, the round thing goes away). Regardless, I believe your post more than I believe the Ford configurator. That really bites that 501A costs the same for Scab and Screw. Surely, somebody at Ford responsible for vetting advertisements noticed the various ambiguities and errors.

For more good info on this go to the thread Aftermarket Subwoofer - some good ideas and I posted some pic of the layout and some more interesting stuff. This is a great site saved me about $1300 showing me how to get X-Plan - a wealth of info.

Hello all,
Im looking high and low for the following information.
I want to leave the stock radio deck, the 4 inch sync 3, in the truck but want to add an amp and some sub woofers but I cannot get any information on how to do this.
Specifically the adapter to get line outs and how to disable the factory amp, if there is one, and where and how to install a larger amp without replacing any of the stock wiring.
I would love some help because I have been searching for over a month now for this info. I can install anything on my own and feel I can do it cheaper then the $1600 the stereo installers are wanting to charge me.
If you can help that would be awesome.
Thanks

great questions and will be interested in the replies - there is at least one response somewhere about some good replacements for the existing speakers but can't find it - did you look at the this thread re sub https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/aftermarket-subwoofer.3034/

I got all the info except a few things.
1. how to tap off the existing wiring to add an amp and subs.
2. how to either bypass or disable the factory amp, if there is one.
Im wanting to swap out the door speakers, which i can do, run the amp and sub, which i can do but how to tap off the existing system i just cannot find.
