Has anyone previously installed the “ultra long range extender” for the factory remote start on another Ford vehicle?

It’s $30 on the Ford Accessories site, do you think it would be worth it? I’d prefer to not pay a monthly subscription to have Ford SmartLink draining my battery for 4 days at a time in the airport parking lot.

Yesterday in my Ford dealership's showroom, I saw a Ranger equipped with a Sports Bar. I like the look, so today I tried to look it up on accessories.ford.com. I believe part number VKB3Z-99518K00-B is what I saw. Sad news is that the description says, "Not compatible with Tonneau/Bed Covers".

Anyone know of a Ranger Sports/Bed Bar that is compatible with a tonneau cover?

Not sure about the sports bar, but I was able to get a tonneau to work with the chase rack for the ranger. It's a ford branded (truxedo) tonneau and came with special seals for it to fit with the chase rack. Mostly for it to line up correctly as the chase rack sits on the inside of the bed rail, as well as the tonneau does. Takes a little side to side action to get it past the bars but it does work just fine.

Guys, a question: beyond the totally cool look of a sports bar/chase rack, what are the pros and cons of putting one on? I do not have a tonneau, so that is not an issue....
