ICON 18" Rebound / Bronze

Yokohama Geolandar A/T 275/60R18

Crew-Cab Base 4x4 Suspension

......................................................................................................................................................................................

My truck has the "base" XLT / STX "Upgrade" 17 x 8 Silver 6-spoke wheels w/ Can't-hook 255/65R17 tires.

Tires are about done & decided I want something different plus go up to an 18" -or- 20" rim/wheel.

I see the LARIAT 4x4 has an 18-inch setup w/ 265/60R18 tire setup. So I figured "plus-zero" size tire could be an option....

I want a wider "foot-print" for traction & grip and figure I'm limited with the stock suspension hence a 275 tire but NOT looking to go taller [NO to 70-series tire].
I could careless about mpg's... I'm wanting "meats" without being too tall either.

ON PAPER- Trying to do general measurements from what I currently have to what I want...
I have a set of BDS "Intrusion-Beam" Bar kit to allow for a wider tire clearance.

BDS Suspension Intrusion Beam Tire Clearance Kit | Ford Ranger (19-23)

I tried searching for this option here & everyone seems to be on 17's & 70-series tire.

Plus, these wheels have a "25-offset" which I'm trying to picture the wheel's position relative to the brake-rotor & truck-fender so I can see if the tires might "stick-out" too much... Am I right?

...........................................................................................................................................

Back when I was playing tourist on the 808-state, I was loving the look of all the Tacoma crew-cabs with 20-inch off-road rims....
I couldn't make out the size of their tire they were riding on & didn't want to look all weird trying to "creep over" to take a closer look....
Guessing they were either on a 275 or 285 tire with a thin side-wall.

I was thinking "de-arching" the rear leaf-spring to get rid of the "stink-bug" look and level out the truck on 20s.
There's a commercial truck shop/service shop by me that says they can easily de-arch the leaf-spring; roughly a 1-inch drop.

I wanted to see IF ANY have approached this idea & wanted to see pics on 18s and 20s too!

Or am I the only odd-ball one here?

I have the 18" black appearance package wheels. I have Eibach coilovers in the front set at about one inch of lift. Just recently upgraded to 255/70/18 tires and have plenty of room. You might need a slight lift to get that size tire to fit. With the BDS crash bars it might work. Check with @Discount Tire and see if they can help. I do like those wheels!

I have a "laundry-list" of parts that I plan on doing since I have to disassemble the front-end [sorta speak] too.

Installing TheRetroFitSource LED Headlamp assembly
Either Mishimoto or Mountune-USA Intercooler/Tube kit
Ford-Performance "Tremor" Grille kit

Factory Ranger Wheels(with the exception of the Tremor) are +55 if memory serves me right. Going to a +25 moves the wheel and tire out 30 MM. Convert that to inches and you have about 1.4 inches in total. With that being done even with stock tire size and no lift you could run into the possibility of rubbing at full lock. If you keep with the factory Offset it has been confirmed to fit up to a 265/70-17 or 265/65-18 with no lift on the 4WD trucks and possibly the 2WD trucks. This would put you at about a 32 inch.

Yokohama Geolandar A/T 275/60R18 tire measures at 31.1" in diameter...

So on paper, I shouldn't have any real issue since it's under 32"

With the BDS Intrusion-beam kit, I'm trying to maximize clearance due to wheel-offset

I think the width of that tire with that wheel offset is what is going to give you issues. A narrower tire and/or small lift is probably going to be needed.
