Thanks for all of the great info. I know that I want a fridge and a power station, but I have not had much time to research this yet. This is why the forum is so awesome!
Anytime Mark! I spent a lot of time looking into this over the winter in preparation for our June trip. I did some test runs at the house for over a month (both fridge and freezer mode) but it's not the same in a temperature controlled environment than it is using it in real life. My setup worked better than I had planned and it was nice to never have to have soggy food or buy ice.

I think if you're camping and going to be somewhere where you can't charge your power station it's worth going up to the EB70. But for day to day use the EB55 has worked out perfect and still have plenty of life left after 12 hours of use. Add a solar suitcase and you have a perfect setup.

Your recent trip definitely inspired me, and your advice has, too. I just purchased the Bluetti EB55. I watched the review from the link you posted, and it really looks like it will fit my needs. The EB70 looks good, too, but it the price per Watt Hour was not as good.

I will keep looking at the refrigerators. I have read a lot of good things on the Dometic, but they are really pricy. The ICECOs look pretty good, and as you suggested, I should look at the SetPower models, too.

I plan to take a trip this fall, so I have time to wait and plan, but it is hard to pass up on this kind of sale.

Good choice on the Bluetti, it's a great unit and has a 2 year warranty.

I was just talking with Setpower and she said their sale is good through tomorrow. I'm still looking at picking up a smaller unit for day to day use where mine right now is a little to big. Setpower is the sister company of Iceco, Iceco has a better compressor that has a 5 year warranty where the Setpower is a 3 year warranty.

I just bought the Setpower TC35 like Allen has. I was torn between this one and the TC 20 but I think the TC35 will work out better as it's deeper. They told me to try it for 2-3 weeks and if I didn't like it I could either exchange it or get a full refund. For $255.00 it was such a good deal I had to buy it. lol

See what you did Dave...I just bought one but it cost me ($255.20) 20 cents more, hmmm must be your commission.? I just hate that I paid so much more for my Dometic over 2 times more for a CFX-IC28 with less storage.

Mine worked perfectly last week, couldn't have been happier. We've used it on a couple Costco runs (over an hour from home) as well.

That's good to hear. My RV45 is really big and takes up almost the whole back seat so this one should be perfect for smaller trips and grocery runs. They have so many that are similar in size so it was a tough choice. The TC20 might have worked but seeing as it's the same length and width as the TC35 I got the TC35 because its taller and height is not an issue in the back seat.

Sorry Dave. :giggle:

I haven't sold enough of these for Setpower to get commission yet so mine was the same amount $255.20. I just left off the .20 kind of like rounding off the .99 to $1.00.

There's been so many new companies popping up over the past few years they're really bringing the prices to a more reasonable level. Dometic and ARB use to be the only ones who made these so the new competition is good for us.

I'm glad I found my Dometic at an REI Garage Sale for something like 60% off. Still more expensive than the new lower-priced competition, but at least Dometic is a known, reliable brand.

Got my setpower tc20 unboxed and gave it a good once over.. seems nice! Enough room for a weekend getaway just like they tell you.

Power station and solar panel are next.

Ideally, a power station with enough juice to run this thing for 24 hours would be perfect... but im thinking it would be hard to justify whatever price tag a station that big comes with. I'm willing to spend another 500$ or so on a station and a panel. Closer to 600 wouldn't kill me.. but still.

Just picked up a Bluetti EB70 and an ICECO VL45 Pro on Prime Day sales. Really liked the Setpower dual zone options, but Setpower wanted $300 shipping to Canada…. Nope, sorry. The ICECO shipped from Ontario so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there’s no customs duties to be paid. Can’t wait for a trial run, going on a cross country tour to Southern Ontario in September so it’d be nice to have any kinks worked out by then.

Ecoflow River Pro and a Harbor Freight solar panel? Little over the $600 but the Ecoflow worked flawlessly for me.

That's a real nice price on that, being on sale. I really like how you can add the extra battery to double the power too..

I don't like how I can't buy it with my harbor freight credit card though ?

I have been looking at jackery's offerings for the most part.. I like that they're a U.S based company.. and I could pay it off later.. but clearly there's a whole new world I need to explore before I make any decisions.

Thank you very much for the input!
