110V in bed

Has anyone added a 110 outlet to the bed without adding an inverter? I figure there's an inverter built-in somewhere for the one in the cab, and wonder if it's possible to tap from it. I understand that if this is possible you will be limited to the same power as the one in the cab as long as that one isn't being used.

my thought was to use a cord extension from the fond outlet to the bed.
