02 ranger. Had recently replaced fuel pump, but started to stutter going down highway. When i cut it off wouldnt start again.

I replaced the fuel pump (second in 4 months) now its acting like its getting no power to fuel pump. Haveing checked fuel filter but have reset the inertia switch and tested relays. All tested fine. Any ideas?

Does the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on? If not, you will have to use a voltmeter to find out where you are losing power to the pump.

The nice thing about an 02 is you have bi directional scan tool option to command the fuel pump power (on) for T-Shoot saves having to jumper power

Have you unplugged and checked the connector at the inertial switch? They had trouble with those melting from high resistance in the pump.

Are those things fuel injected? Do you have pressure in the high-pressure fuel rail?
