IIRC the signal going to the CHMSL is not a steady current +12V. I believe it is a PWM signal, so the lumen unit converts that modulated signal to a basic +12V/0V on/off signal that the TBC needs.
edit.
....on that same note, I'm pretty sure that the wireless controllers will work with the...
Unless I'm lacking reading comprehension, he very clearly stated that the trailer's lights would not indicate with AEB or ACC braking. That is incorrect. That's all I'm saying.
The Ford/RedArc trailer brake controller changes absolutely nothing with trailer's indicator lamp functionality. If you have the Ford/Redarc TBC, an aftermarket, or no TBC at all. If the trucks brake lights are on for any reason, the trailer's will also be on.
The trailer brake controller has nothing to do with if the trailer's brake lamps are indicating. If the truck's brake lamps are on for any reason the trailer's will be on.
If you just got the truck and haven't filled the tank, it's very likely the lot or previous owner was either driving like a nut or letting the vehicle idle for long periods of time. The distance to E and low fuel light are based on your average fuel economy since last fill up. My distance to E...
The reciever and the 7 pin connector/harness is all you need. Unless you have an XL, the TBC wiring bundle should be tucked under the dash. There is no added trans cooler.
I've pulled the same trailer both with WDH w' friction sway and without with bags. The behind the wheel experience for me was pretty much identical, So I've switch to a normal hitch setup with bags. 5300# trailer with around 600# tongue weight. Top pic is bags, bottom is the WDH.
IIRC Ford's Modular transmissions will bolt up to the 7.3l. So in theory the Mustang or F150's 10R80 should bolt up , the Ranger's definitely would not. The 10r80's bellhousings are integrated into the case so it's not something that could be overcome with a bellhousing swap.
If this were a...
10s of thousands of dollars and months of labor to swap a drive train that would get walked by a tuned F150. Sure, why not?
The subjects of engine swaps gets brought up every few months. Nothing ever comes of it. It's mostly just something to talk about on the internet. Folks with the...
Most equipment haulers rental trailers I've seen have surge brakes. There is only one state in the country where you can legally tow over 5k lbs without trailer brakes. There's no excuse for any legitimate heavy duty rental company with equipment haulers without trailer brakes. I can understand...
Shouldn't be towing that weight with ANY truck without trailer brakes, but yes likely a dual 5000/7500lb axle equipment hauler plus excavator would likely put you well over towing cap and close to or over GCWR.
OBD tuners are fairly universal. The Tunes loaded on them are typically vehicle specific sometimes down to the computer code and/or VIN. As long as the actual tuning device supports the vehicle, they can buy it but they will have to purchase tunes to be loaded on it for their specific vehicle...
Unless you are at an ethanol free station, you can pretty much rest assured that the premium has ethanol in it as it is one main octane boosters used in modern fuel.
IDK. I was expecting some news by now. This is what one of the testers said. I'm ready, taillights are about the last big item I need to button up the truck cosmetically.
Haven't seen anyone demonstrate heat soak in the stock charge cooler. Nor have I seen any convincing data that there's much to be gained from upgrading the stock charge cooler, considering the price of aftermarket units.
There's a reason nearly no one runs A2W on street turbo vehicles. It's...
