  1. 10 Pickup Trucks That Struggle With Towing And Payload Capacity

Possibly one of the dumbest automotive articles I've read this year.
  2. Horrible shifting after transmission fluid change

Case was more than likely overfilled.
  3. Yikes! Are they really this expensive?

Ford's specialty lines i.e. SVT, Raptor, Shelby, RS almost always come with a hefty markup. Nothing new. That's why it's funny people thinking they are going to secure a Ranger Raptor for anywhere close to the reported $50k MSRP.
  4. OBD2 accuracy??

There is no fuel economy PID. The app is doing a calculation.
  5. Lower Rear to Level Truck

The Belltech kit is bolt on.
  6. Is it me or does the base Ranger seem "too tall"

To be fair these trucks have more rake then just about anything I've seen on the road, and for some reason it seems especially pronounced on the base XL supercabs. It almost looks like it has a lift on the rear from factory. It could just be the shorter wheelbase that makes it seem more extreme...
  7. Tesla Model S 'Spontaneously' Catches Fire, Requires 6,000 Gallons Of Water To Extinguish

The danger of EV fires have been known for a while. They are banned at many race tracks for this reason. Most tracks don't have the equipment or personnel to extinguish them if one should catch fire. If big brain Uncle Musk has his way should you get locked inside your vehicle during a fire...
  8. When should I have the transmission filter and fluid changed on my 2019 Lariat?

Mercon LV/ULV starts to darken after a few heat cycles. That's why there's no color chart for the newer low viscosity fluids. Dark ULV doesn't mean it's bad.
  9. Tesla over a cliff

I'm sure they have their reasons, but I'm curious to know why they believe this was intentional. I'd guess family testimony. Either way it's impressive that they survived that.
  10. Do I have a blown head gasket?

Just condensation from the weather getting colder.
  11. Transmission Any Better with 2023's?

The trans on my 2020 wasn't super smooth off the lot, but it ironed out after a few days. Since then it's been a peach, coming up on 40,000 miles with no issues. I keep it in drive unless I'm towing, then tow mode. Don't use sport mode, as I haven't found any practical use for it. The...
  12. bright headlights

If you are getting flashed regularly by oncoming traffic, I can almost promise you that your headlights are aimed too high. The ride height of the oncoming vehicle does not matter. As crazy as it sounds, your headlights are actually supposed to be aimed at the ground at a very slight angle. The...
  13. bright headlights

It's not uncommon for headlights to be mis-aimed from the factory. Also not uncommon for this not to be noticed or addressed during PDI.
  14. Anyone dared to chop the dash for aftermarket Mac yet!

I've thought about it, there are a quite of these style HU's for the T6 ROW Ranger/Everest. Only hesitation is these units have a reputation for being buggy. Considering they are in control of the HVAC, I don't want something I'd have to worry about functionality and reliability .
  15. Heat and Turbo Lag Issues?

I honestly don't remember which PID I logged, but in hindsight it's very possible I was looking at the upstream IAT's not the charge temps.
  16. Leveled, Tuned, and Pedal Commandered. Wow!

Yep you could do that, or they could perform a very simple data log of pedal position and throttle body position with time on the X axis. If the TB was opening slower/faster relative to pedal position there would be a easily demonstrable difference in the relative positions of the TB/APP sensors...
  17. Leveled, Tuned, and Pedal Commandered. Wow!

That demo box sprint booster uses is utter BS. I can promise you with 100% surety that your throttle body is not that slow to respond. And here's the catch, even if it was there's absolutely nothing these pedal tuners could do to change the speed at which it opened. The only thing that can be...
  18. Nitrogen

We get it free at work, And pretty much nobody uses it.
  19. Rear brake service

You need to wind it back far enough for the caliper to fit over the new pads. You don't necessarily have to bottom it out. And, yes the two notches need to be clocked to the 12 and 6 o'clock position. Most pads will have a bump that fits into one of the notches in the piston.
