  1. How about some Jokes [Admin: No Politics, Religion, Nudity, Explicit Posts]

When I worked for a forest products company years ago, they said "when your product takes 60 years to produce, you have to have a long term outlook" - and they did - but they were one of the very few that did. Now all that matters to any publicly trade company is the next 3 months and that is...
  2. HELP!! Drove thru a puddle of road paint 🤬

Looks a little bit like where I was last Wednesday..... Except we had to make our own path thru this: FYI, that old oil barrel someone put there as a trail junction marker. That barrel has to be at least 50 years old, but it makes a great marker!
  3. Where the F is the $1.99 gas ?!?!?

And I thought I was doing well when I got premium for $3.68!!!!!
  4. Belt Tensioner SNAPPED OFF

Did you make it? Buy it?
  5. Belt Tensioner SNAPPED OFF

More details, please! This looks like another potential "just in case" fix.
  6. Project Msfitoy V3.0

Yeah - I put in what I took out but I still second guess it over and over..... I just need to chill. Without the FitzStick it would be nearly impossible to get correct-without getting 3rd degree burns, that is.
  7. Project Msfitoy V3.0

I am so thankful for the hard work you did, and the fact that you documented it well. I used that when checking. I guess I have PTSD from all the horror stories so I just want to make sure the level is correct - one thing I've found is that once it shows on the stick, it does not take a lot of...
  8. Project Msfitoy V3.0

I spend more time checking the fluid level than actually changing the fluid! I just did a drain and fill a week ago - first time with the PPE pan - it was easy and I filled based on what I took out but I'm always really paranoid about the level now - I spent a long time checking the level -...
  9. Should I??

I gotta agree with @ChrisM and @DukeCanBuildit - Dave - get out your fork!
  10. Combo Jump Starter/Inflator

Home Depot has things where you can get the inflator for free when you buy certain batteries or other tools. It seems to change frequently, but it is a good way to get the tool for free.
  11. Combo Jump Starter/Inflator

I have the M18 version - it works really well and actually lasts quite a while on a 5 or 6 AH battery.
  12. Combo Jump Starter/Inflator

For just an inflator, I LOVE my Milwaukie inflator. I have an all in one unit (inflator/jump pack) I bought at Costco a bunch of years ago, but it is for emergencies only - I've never actually used it. My Milwaukie inflator is WAY better than anything else I've used. Fast and quiet.
  13. Rival: 2028 Ram Dakota pickup confirmed for US / North America

Now THAT is what I call a good deal! In 14 years, you had zero depreciation! I tell you what - those straight 6s are really hard to kill. My son had a 300 straight six in his F-100 and it had over 200k on it, and it ran like a top. He drained the oil out of it once when he had it parked in...
  14. Heavy Duty's Front Hitch Design Fitment

I'm assuming you are referring to @Heavy Duty's front mounted hitch receiver he has designed built. If so, I can't answer definitively, but I would guess probably not since the 2024s are at least 2" wider - I'd assume the frame is wider, and there might be other differences as well.
  15. 4WD a nightmare at slow speeds

I would argue that 4WD can make things worse since you might not realize how slippery conditions are since you can get going just fine. So many drivers are just not attentive to current conditions - and "common sense" isn't very common anymore it seems.
  16. 4WD a nightmare at slow speeds

After watching that, the other thing that comes to mind is the people who just leave their wheels locked up while sliding - it is better to let the wheels roll and try and be very light on the brakes than just plow thru. So many bad snow drivers..... When we get snow here I hate to drive in it...
  17. 4WD a nightmare at slow speeds

This advice cannot be repeated enough. 4WD does NOTHING to help you STOP or gain additional traction on curves. I've seen way too many people in 4WD vehicles driving WAY too fast because they think they have traction. 4WD helps you GO, but it does nothing to help you STOP.
  18. Is the Patagonia AT Pro the perfect tire?

I'm curious what kind of mileage you got out of those previous sets of Destination XTs. My experience with Firestone tires (which has all been ones that came on a new vehicle) is that they are VERY soft, and don't last very long. That is the reason I've never considered them for replacement...
  19. 10R80 transmission poll.

Agreed - even with the small sample size 20% is certainly not a noisy few. It is significant - but my point was that if the real number was something like that , it might explain why Ford hasn't done more - the beancounters say that is an "acceptable" number. I think a third option would...
  20. 10R80 transmission poll.

While 170 people is still a pretty small sample size, I find it interesting that it seems to be pretty much an 80/20 split (only 20 percent have problems) - I'm wondering if that is indeed true for a larger sample this is why Ford hasn't done more - its "good enough". We will never know...
