It looks like things have changed a bit since I used it last. It looks like there is some new "protection" for APIMs built after 2019 (ESN Locked). It sounds like you can still do it by disabling MY20 protection but that would make me a bit nervous honestly.
I forgot what map version I have...
I put an aftermarket unit in my daughters 2003 Honda since the screen pretty much crapped out. I was surprised how well it works - factory wiring connections, the fit was pretty good (not perfect, but pretty good) and it controls pretty much everything the old screen did. It was only like...
If you want to update, just use the CyanLabs updater - it is honestly WAY better than the Ford updater and it is free too.

I don't get the hate for the oil filter location - have you ever changed it? It is really not bad at all - much better than many cars I've changed oil on. It is actually very accessible, IMO.
Does anyone know where that was taken? It looks suspiciously like a lake up in Washington state - Colchuck Lake that gets a LOT of people in the summer - it is kind of weird since it is a 5 mile hike to the lake - but I've heard on a nice summer day there can be 300 people there.
I can't...
Patrick, so sorry to hear about your wife - my sincere condolences. I can only imagine how rough the last few years have been for you.
On the Bronco, congratulations - I hope it treats you well. As others have said, pictures would be GREAT!
Honestly, the hardest part of the job is removing the skid plate - and that isn't that hard (4 bolts). It is easier than removing the fiber "aerodynamic covering" (I have no idea what it is called) that I have to do under our C-Max - I hate those things.
Its been a LONG time since Fram filters...
I agree - of all the vehicles I've changed oil on, this ranks towards the top for ease or changing the oil and filter. Certainly not the easiest, but definitely nowhere near the hardest. You can get to the filter without turning the tire but it makes it a lot easier, IMO. I've never...
I would highly recommend replacing those plastic fasteners with rivnuts and thumbscrews. Someone suggested it a few years ago and I did it and it is a lot easier to remove than those stupid plastic things. Other people have used magnets successfully.
Here are a few threads about it...
Just an FYI - you don't have to remove the tire to get to the oil filter. All you have to do is turn the wheel to the right and you can access the filter just fine.
Just to clear up any confusion, that would be the 6G Ranger (2024-2026). @airline tech noted that it did not apply to the 5G, which is a correct statement.
A cheaper option is to get an inexpensive OBDII Bluetooth adapter and then purchasing Torque Pro for your phone. It does a great job for monitoring trans temps and would be significantly cheaper than a Scan Gauge II. I'm sure the Scan Gauge will do more than Torque Pro but if you wouldn't use...
The Maverick looks have been growing on me and the 2025 looks a lot better than the older ones, IMO. It still isn't enough of a truck for me, especially the bed.
That "lifetime warranty" - make sure you read the fine print. You will most likely have to get all maintenance and service work...
That's nothing, Dave! We used to have a peacock that lived two door down from us! That thing was beautiful - not sure what ever happened to it though. The guy who lived there had an unfortunate accident (he was pretty elderly) and his old house has gone thru like 4 owners since he died.
It...
If/when I need to replace my 5G, at this point, I'd seriously consider a Ridgeline. As I get older my needs for a "real" truck are less, and I think it would satisfy most of my needs. My daughter has a 2004 Accord that has over 200k on it and it has has had no issues and still drives like a...
For me, unless Ford radically changes their approach to quality, it makes no difference. After 40 years of owning Fords, I think I've purchased my last one.
It would not surprise me in the least for them to discontinue it again. They will let NOTHING jeopardize the F-Series "best selling for...
It just goes to show you how incredibly poorly these companies have been managed... "betting" on regulation is not a good business strategy, IMO.
I can't believe Farley is still CEO honestly. Whqt is even scarier is that these CEOs who run companies into the ground end up being CEOs of OTHER...
