I put 1/4" hardware cloth in mine and have left it in. I haven't noticed any performance degradation, but guessing it would be hard for me to notice.
Also took care of the cabin air entry at same time as I had found mouse droppings in my glove box (luckily no other sign in weeks).
Either of you off road with this tune? I was thinking Frenchy's logic of using the tow tune made a lot of sense, but seems like even more torque at lower RPMs in the performance tune so maybe would be fine just sticking with that?
Glad it was confirmed. The article was definitely written in a way where it wasn’t clear at all.
I have been running the tow tune for about a week now. Shifts are still pretty janky while it relearns so holding my opinion for now. Still get the “lugging” though maybe mildly improved?
Yep totally understand offset and impact on crash bars. I am convinced crash bars need to go (or be replaced with low profile). Also suspect will need to decrease offset to clear suspension. Totally understand all of that.
Really just asking to see if anyone has done this with stock Tremor...
I am assuming I will need more offset to prevent any rubbing on suspension? If not, would actually prefer to just keep the factory wheels. Just really don't want to mess with adding a hockey puck to get more height.
Hey all, pretty sure this will work, but even after a lot of digging in forums, I am not 100%. I am assuming a wheel change (or spacer) to probably around +25mm (sticking with 17"). I am also planning on swapping in the Ready Lift crash bars (or just removing entirely). I really don't want to...
I removed the Tremor badging. Found it cheesy and the number of people who referenced the Kevin Bacon movie was starting to get on my nerves (though that movie is pretty great). I would likely keep the FX4 though something nice about less stickers.
I did a full day fairly intense (for me) off-road course that had some rock crawling and never needed to engage the rear locker. I like the option to decide when to use it.
Put some armor on my tremor today. Installed engine, transmission, and transfer skid from Shrockworks as well as lower shock skids from 589 Fab. No photos cuz not that exciting to look at the underside of a truck, but have a little added peace of mind when off road.
Next projects on list...
This is the first new Ford I have owned and the service department at my dealership was completely useless for a different issue. Distressing to hear how widespread the ineptitude seems to be?!
How does his lack of an intrusion bar put you at risk?
Also I think it is very telling that a post that most saw as “check out my new tires I am excited about” was read by you as “who wants to argue with me about crash bars”. I just read again and I don’t see anything that says he was looking...
What is with the crash bar police crashing this thread. It is his truck and he is not putting anyone else at risk other than him and his passengers. Might I suggest the legal team crashing this thread mind their own business?
Looks great! That is the size I am going to eventually switch to as well. Can’t decide if I want to buy new wheels or just go with spacers. I already have aftermarket crash bars ready to go when I make the switch.
