I just installed Shrockwork sliders few days ago and can say the install was pretty easy even with just one person. Using jack stands to hold the sliders and using existing holes (aside from one hole need to drill) in the frame made it a fast install. I was concerned about missing hardware...
I swapped my grille for the Raptor style grille so my nostrils are gone. Also swapped out my steps for a rock slider. Is it even a Tremor without the nostrils and steps?!
Yep very easy install. It does add a fair amount of weight and to be honest I kind of preferred the look with nothing installed but since I had already bought the sliders I installed them. I did add the tread plate. Didn’t think about ice buildup. Guess I will see?
I just swapped mine out today for Shrockwork sliders. They are pretty flimsy and lightweight (surprisingly so) so I would not count on them to handle much abuse.
Was enabled on mine as well even though I really never noticed it until I disabled today. I have a 2021 Lariat Tremor. One unexpected change that happened when I disabled was that the chimes switched from the speakers to the dash, which I find kind of annoying.
Any thoughts or opinions on replacing the OEM front tow hooks with shackles? I see Rough Country sells a kit to do this but unsure if the quality. Shackles seem like they would be more practical but I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to off-roading so thought would ask folks I here?
Good point raised that you might want to have the switch in the bed of the truck and on power that will be on for some time after the truck is off. I actually considered and rejected using one of my aux switches for bed lights for this reason.
My Tremor (Lariat) did not come with bed lighting. I ordered the Ford kit and having installed next week so can’t answer specifics of wire run. From my own research you can find posts here of how people have run wiring from bed to battery.
The tremor aux fuse box is front of engine bay on...
I live in a hilly and windy road area which limits top speed to about 40. I notice this all the time climbing a hill. Sometimes it seems so bad that even pushing on the gas does nothing. I have started shifting into S prior to heading up a bigger hill just to avoid this. Maybe will...
There are few mud flaps for the Tremor threads in the tremor forum. I went with the RokBlokz XL size and think they look pretty good. Can also confirm a big reduction in rocks hitting the truck after install.
Nearly every online service now supports 2-fac authentication. We already have an app on our phone for the truck. Would be not terrible to have some form of 2 factor for our vehicles. You need the fob and your phone to drive. I get people may not always want to have their phone on them but could...
I have the XL on and think they look just about right. I think smaller might look too small? After driving around for a few days including on a bunch of gravel roads I can say with confidence that I am hearing less rocks hitting and those that I am hearing are underneath on skids.
I just installed yesterday. They don't offend me, but they also don't look great. As long as they cut down on the flying rocks I guess I will be happy. They also don't seem to be super sturdy. The top screw in particular seems to barely lock in. I fully expect them to get ripped off at some...
Hey all, new owner here as of last week. I sort of dumb lucked into getting one. I had not been in the market for a new car, but had paid off my 2017 Outback and started getting calls from local dealers wanting to buy it. Had been considering a truck at some point so just randomly popped over...
Just struggled with this for 30 minutes until I found this thread. Popped out LED bulbs and worked instantly. Just ordered new bulbs off Amazon. The radio must be weak in the Ranger.
