  1. This is interesting. Inflatable bed topper.

It sounds like others echo my same sentiments... cool idea, but niche product at a high price. The way I see it, the value add of this product over a traditional topper is the ability to 'easily' take it on and off. Both from a space savings point of view (though it looks like it takes a lot...
  2. Support group for those wanting to drive their Ranger but can't due to high gas price

And yet, the Ranger doesn't get that much better mileage. My dad has a 2019 F150 3.5L, and actually gets better mileage than I do on road trips. Around town, I edge him out though. But even if you want to talk about EPA numbers. Ranger 4x2 = 21/26/24 Ranger 4x4 = 20/24/22 F150 3.3L 4x2 =...
  3. Winch recommendations for hidden winch mount?

Mine just shipped out. I was planning on a Warn Zeon 10, but after double checking specs, it looks like that's not actually going to fit in there. So now I'm wondering if I just want to drop down to the Warn Evo 10, or if I want to consider alternative brands to see if there's one in the...
  4. New Ranger engineering updates

That's really not a fair statement. When I bought my Ranger, I was debating between an Explorer, a Ranger, and an F150. Pros for the Explorer was that it was the right size, and had all of the features I wanted. Pros for the F150 was that it was a truck and had all of the features I wanted...
  5. Another Shakeup at Ford

Sound advice. I know that when I was getting my MBA, that was one of the things that was just a complete eye opener to me (that and that your company has no loyalty to you anymore, so you should not feel any loyalty to them). I grew up listening to my dad, who's retirement was all invested in...
  6. What's your kayak rack setup?

As a lover of my Yakima setup, if I didn't have to use the bed for other things, I wouldn't bother with my setup. Off the top of my head, you're looking at ~$3,000 for that setup, between the retrax, the overhaul, the rails, and the craddles. Let me reiterate again - I love my setup. But even...
  7. Stolen taillight - more expensive than you might think

While the lens is still expensive, the BLIS module inside the taillight is the more expensive part. You can detach that from your current taillight and install it in your replacement lens. At least you can from my experience with the F-150. Edit: Confirmed from my picture during my lights...
  8. Stolen taillight - more expensive than you might think

Ironically, whoever gets those BLIS modules will have to take them to a Ford Dealer in order to activate them to his truck... They are mated right now to your VIN and won't work on another truck.
  9. Insufficient A/C Airflow

Not really. I put open cell foam in the rear underseat vents (intending to block a large portion of air to the back, increasing what gets pushed out to the front) which helped a *smidge*. I could probably just tape them off at this point based off of how infrequently people ride back there...
  10. Michigan Rangers?

It was a fun afternoon. I put together some sped up high lights from my day there if you're interested. The rock crawling there is very limited. There's basically a single mound that has an "easy" way that the Ranger could do without a problem, a medium difficulty that stock doesn't have...
  11. Michigan Rangers?

SE Michigan between Ann Arbor and Detroit. 2019 Lariat Screw Saber toy hauler. Currently sitting on stock everything, but my patience for waiting for the warranty to expire is running out. I'd definitely be up for a trail weekend next summer. I did take her out to Holly Oaks this past summer...
  12. Best Frame Mounted Rock Sliders

I ordered and returned the RRW sliders. It was an overall negative experience with them, but I never mounted them to the truck to actually review how well they worked. I ordered them right after the prices increased (because I sat too long on my butt making a decision on which one I wanted)...
  13. Brake Applied, Power Reduced

That's what the good ole heel-toe is for. Still no need to left foot brake.
  14. Bed Lights

There should be a 12V wire right by the rear left quarter panel you can use. It's run there for the folks who get the power point in the bed, and is just tucked up out of the way for the rest of us.
  15. Locked out again this morning

I <3 this thing. I really wish like every other Ford product on the market, it would be hardwired instead of battery operated, but this right here is a main reason for me to buy a Ford. I know, it's really stupid, but the competitor product would have to be just so much better... Like the...
  16. Annoying honking

I recommend the Forscan approach. It's ~$20 to get an OBDII tool, and a free software to disable it. Once you have it, you'll probably find that you want to do other things with it. For example, I turned on cornering light option for my fog light (which has me now thinking about getting a...
  17. Warning to push button start owners...

I feel like I've been reading about Chrysler products and the hackability of them for years now - but they all require access to the OBD port. Though I suppose for the cost of a smashed window, that's not a big deal. But I guess that also should turn on the alarm system. Oh well, one more...
  18. De-programming lost keys?

Take it to the dealership. In the process of programming your new key, they will deprogram your old key. (The process is actually to unlearn all keys, and then learn the new keys).
  19. Forward Radar

Yup, that's what I thought... mine was grayed out completely and wouldn't let me change it.
  20. Forward Radar

So I'm planning on getting a ACC relocating bracket (from Fab 4, but I think ADD has one as well) when I put a winch on my truck... I'm wondering if the relocated position would be better protected and less prone to getting caked in snowy slush garbage. As a side note... last winter when it...
