I wonder why there is a selection for stock / 1 inch lift when ordering the White Knuckle sliders. Anyone know why? And what is the advantage of a 15 degree angle versus straight out?
Not sure about the lift, but the 15º angel is to improve clearance over straight out.

I have rocky road sliders and really like them. They definitely are very well constructed and really sturdy. I think they are one of the only ones that you actually drill into the frame.

Well, you do drill one hole on each side for the Shrockworks, the rest use existing holes. Makes them easy to line up.

I ordered and returned the RRW sliders. It was an overall negative experience with them, but I never mounted them to the truck to actually review how well they worked. I ordered them right after the prices increased (because I sat too long on my butt making a decision on which one I wanted), and it said that it was going to be 6-8 weeks lead time. Cool, it was Dec when I ordered, so they would easily be here in time for spring time activities... Well, after ~10 weeks, I started trying to contact them. They don't have a phone number btw, so you can't actually call them. But I emailed them, and waited... and waited. I submitted a message through their website... and waited, and waited. I reached out through FB, and waited... After 3 weeks of trying to contact them, they finally responded and said that they were getting painted this week and would ship out next week. 3 more weeks go by, and I try contacting them again. I never did get a response this time, but in a 4th week, I got tracking info for the shipment.

This next part may be on the shipping company and not RRW, but did not help the overall experience. They were scheduled to arrive July 3rd, and required a signature. I was going to be out of town from like July 1st to July 8th, so I rescheduled them on the shippers website (which was Pilot shipping btw, I'm assuming they're a more bulk shipper, but I still hadn't had any experience with them). On June 30th, I got an email saying that they had be rescheduled to July 1st... I emailed and called and got them to change it back to the July 9th date that I had selected - they apologized saying that an earlier time opened up and they just assumed that I would want them sooner. The next day, I leave for a week long vacation, and then get a phone call from the Pilot driver who was at my house with my sliders looking for a signature. I told him that no one was home and that we had rescheduled for July 9th. He said okay and left. When I got home on the 8th, I had ONE slider just leaning against my garage door, in full view of the street, for over a week. July 9th comes and goes, and I don't get the second one. I call Pilot, and it seems that they lost it because in their system it shows delivered, but only 1 of 2 were delivered, but they have no clue where box 2 of 2 was. There were two labels on the box, one said 1 of 2, the other said 2 of 3, so I didn't know if I was supposed to be getting 2 or 3 boxes, and what all was lost. After about another week, they did locate it and deliver the second slider, this time I was home to sign for it.

And then I start unpacking the sliders, they were just not what I ordered. For starters, they changed their design between the time that I ordered it and what was delivered, so I didn't actually get what I ordered. The outside edges of both sliders were all scrapped up, and while I would normally write that off as shipping damage, there was no sign of damage on the box, or on the packing materials. I will take a moment to say that these things were well packed! They had that soft fabric foam covering the entire rail, which was held in place with saran wrap. On all of the ends and brackets, they built it up with numerous layers of fabric foam to further protect it, and then the entire rail had hard foam corners to suspend it in the box. In addition to the scratches, it looked like several of the bracket pieces weren't painted properly, and the paint was peeling. One of the bracket interior bits had a bit of weld slag on it, such that I needed to put it to the grinder to get it to fit on the truck. But the kicker that made me actually return them... the welds were uneven non-straight beads that were an eye sore. I've only welded a few times myself, and it looked to be about on par with what I've done previously. But obviously I'm not happy with that level, else I would have done it myself to start with :p.

The return experience was pretty smooth - though I did start right away by saying that if I didn't hear back within 24hrs, I would cancel payment through my credit card. They requested pictures of my complaints and then provided me shipping labels to return it. From there, Pilot shipping messed up again, and apparently ended up losing the shipment - I contacted them about when I would get my refund, and they said when they received them since it hadn't been picked up yet... I provided the shipper, and then they refunded me.

Rocky road you drill 24 holes. Just a little bit of a hassle, but not to bad

That is the one reason I didn't go with them, otherwise they looked great, with good reviews, but I sure didn't want to drill that many holes in my frame.

Don’t blame you one bit. I didn’t think I was going to go that route until I found these for sale on my local classified and couldn’t pass them up

Well, that always helps in making up your mind. I installed a complete leveling system on a RV one time, had to drill 20 holes in the solid steel frame, burned up 2 good bits... and wore out my arms :)

My arms were cramping pretty bad towards the end. You have to apply a lot pressure!
