Won’t flippin flip out anymore. Push the little button, and the key stays put. If I press the button and push the key in, it comes out. I’m going to get warrantied but that’s obnoxious that it’s broken already after less than a year.

I have seen on certain types of flip keys where the little roll pin that holds the key blade in, will wiggle loose and contact the plastic body of the key. Check to make sure that hasn't happened on yours, if that's how it is. If so, it just takes a small pliers or needle nose to squeeze it back into place. If that's not it, then hopefully Ford will fix/replace it for ya.

It doesn't appear to be the roll pin, feels "internal"

What's this key thingy you speak of? o_O
I have an XLT, so I'm stuck with the same key as a 2010 Ford Flex. I "thought" it would end up more reliable in the long run, but seems like it's going to be trash and I'll end up with half a keyfob taped to my steering column, and a metal key on a keychain of my own design in 6 years.
