I have had this issue with my key fob. When I use this specific key fob, the truck doesn't want to work. It doesn't unlock, but if it does, it sets off the alarm. It takes multiple tries to get it to crank over. Then, if all goes right and it decides to work, the electronics won't work. The gauge cluster screen doesn't work, and the radio display stays black. Do I need a new key fob or could it just be the battery

if it is just with this fob then I think the fob needs a new battery and/or re synced with
the vehicle.

Your troubles may be related to the truck’s electronics and not the fob.

Your truck has to recognize the signal from the fob for unlocking and starting, which could easily be a fob issue. However, those other things that happen if the truck does start, lead me to believe it’s the truck, not the fob.

UPDATE: Your other post about your cluster is further evidence it’s your truck’s electronics.

Good luck - I hope you get it sorted out.

If this is only (1) FOB then its either the battery or the FOB itself, replace the battery in the FOB.
The issues you are having with it tie into the PATs system not seeing a valid FOB frequency for
opening the door (not seeing a valid FOB) alarm triggers, and the no start and IPC powering up issues (not seeing a valid FOB) and generating a Ignition Status change (this COM) triggers the IPC and SYNC Screens to power up.

So, I would start with the FOB Battery (first)
