That space, especially the bottom 3-4” collects a lot of crap because of how the shrouding is designed. Both the front and back side of the radiator. The shroud is a two piece and the top half comes out really easy. That makes access to the back side easy to wash everything out. Whenever I have put some miles on involving off roading, water/mud or dirt roads I usually have to clean it out. It’s definitely an area you have to pay attention to. Here’s an image of what I washed out after my last off road trip. Bottom 2-3 inches were packed with this stuff. This was strictly from radiator

Grumpaw is right. I tow a 30ft 6k tt and temps go up bit nothing srious. I drive in tow mode and manual mode
I do not use 9th or 10th gear at all. Going up grades use 6 or 7th gear. I always keep rpms above 2thousand. The higher rpm keeps the turbo from working too hard, and fluids moving. Low rpm higher turbo boost and higher temps. That is my experience. As others have mentioned, not normal pulling something so small. Check cooling systems. Towing a trailer at 7k pounds, towing an suv, should not over heat you as well.
