I want to research this more, but it looks like a camera could be added to the bottom of the passenger rear-view mirror that would be activated by the turn signal. I had this feature on a Honda Civic and miss it. I'm thinking it would be great for both sides.

That would be a great addition for the trail and everyday parking situation...
The Honda camera is molded into the passenger side mirror and is activated by the turn signal or a button on the turn signal level. I used it a lot.

Take a look at Hudway Drive heads up display with available side cameras and forward thermal camera. Purchased in crowd funding (latest update is production to begin March). Here is the info on Indiegogo. Going to need a good electrical shop to route and connect this up when it comes. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hudway-drive-the-best-head-up-display-for-any-car--2#/
Now that's cool! I really like the forward IR camera. Putting blind spot mirrors on the fenders as shown in the linked page would save a lot of work by not needing to run wires through the doors. Thanks.

my wife's Civic has this and it is great to have. I catch myself looking at the center stack when I am turning in my ranger.

our Civic has the blind spot camera. our friends have an Acura MDX with the THEN version of Honda Sensing before it was released. It uses a combo of sensors and cameras to give a full 360 view.

to be honest with the CoPilot 360 on my ranger I am entirely happy.

Would I like the added benefit of a camera? I'd be very interested in it if we could integrate it into our existing platform as I don't have many fears about working on my own vehicles.

Not that its untrusted, its just on the low end of the technology spectrum.
One day, all this info around us will be bluetoothed directly to our brain
BLIS uses a literal radar system, much more technology is involved there than a camera that turns on with a blinker. It's a lot better to be looking at your rearview mirror with an accurate blind spot LED than it is to be driving and turning with your head down looking at the console.
