Count me as being consistent. I threw the smartphones out when I retired. Not worth the privacy risks.

Further, if anyone comes into our home, the smart phones go into a Faraday cage box. No worse company than those who are glued to a handheld device with the attention span of a gnat. The box is right at the front door.

Goes in the box when you enter and out the box when you leave.

I spent a good portion of my career in SW and HW design, and AI at IBM Research in the mid 1990's. I'm presently seeing what my team discussed at length back in 1995.

And you ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait for the "'great convergence". It is going to take your breath away!
