The team here at RealTruck volunteered for a trail cleanup with onX and TreadLightly! out in the Ocala National Forest.

We gathered at Big Scrub Campgrounds, and they had everyone split into crews. Todd was on the landscaping crew clearing overgrown trails, and I was on trash duty. We ended up hauling out everything from carpet and tile to 18 mattresses and 50+ tires.

All in all, it was about 13,000 lbs of trash between two dumpsters!

Todd wrote up the full experience, including some photos and a video with Steve (aka Muddy Taco) from the North Florida Trail Rats. You can check it out here at our RealSource page: RealSource Ocala National Forest Cleanup

Especially in Florida for some reason
It's everywhere from coast to coast. It doesn't surprise me though because most can't even put their shopping cart back in the corral I wouldn't expect them to throw their trash away properly. 🤬

I'm only half joking when I tell my wife people should be instantly executed for that.

I'm all for it.

What's worse it the weather here is nice pretty much year round and yet they leave their carts right where they park or up against the car next to them. We saw one the other day sitting in the middle of a parking space and the corral was 2 spaces away. That's just plain lazy! :explode:

When I was a kid we'd go camping in the Ocala area at Juniper Springs. The spring water was crystal clear, and vegetation was dense, even going down the river. Back then you could simply paddle your kayak down the river. I think it is much more popular, crowded, and formal now.

It's been 50 years since i was there, but the "Jungle" was amazing. A great deal of good memories!

I don't quite know if it's equally bad or worse when they bring it back to the corral but half-ass the putting away so that they're blocking off the entrance to the corral for anyone. It's like, c'mon you lazy SOB, you've taken the time to bring it back, take the extra three seconds to push it into the carts ahead of it, so that the rest of us can add ours as well, instead of leaving it just past the threshold.
