Wife and I just got back from a 2 month, 4K mile trip. Towed our 19' Airstream the whole way, probably 4,500lbs or so actual travel weight, never did the scale thing. I did purchase a hitch weight scale and it reads 600 lbs as average. A bit higher than I expected but well within the 750 lbs that Ford gives as safe. Posting because I owe the forum members for so much help and guidance.
2021 xlt Lariat supercab, with added blue sumo's and Bilsteins and wdh. Truck towed so well, never once felt it was underpowered. Lots of hills in the Virginia/West Virginia area that slowed others down but always felt I could blow by anyone when needed. My worst mpg's were in the mountains and were 12-13 , best were in the flats of the Carolina's and Florida and saw 15-16 mpg. I typically get 25 mpg when not towing, am old and rarely have to be anywhere so take my time.
My wife misses our F150 as it had more back seat space to throw what amounts to junk. Super cab doesn't really hold much back there, but not sure if it matters, she'd fill it up anyway. Think I need to find a way to organize a better bed storage system to keep her happy. Not going back to F150 though, happy with the Ranger.
A great truck!
