I have one of their setups ordered for my 2022 Tremor. I’m not spending $1400 for a Knoxville aluminum shaft for the Tremors. Watching the install video reassured me. They mention loctite usage on all hardware. There were previous posts questioning the bolts loosening. I looked a reviews of the same product for other vehicles. Some as far back as 2020. So these have been out there for a long time, just new to the Ranger. Didn’t see any negative or falling apart complaints. Lots of reviews for high performance high horsepower usage ( Hellcats, etc). So I’m going into this with a pretty high confidence level. Won’t see it till next month but I’ll definitely report back.The rubber around the stock carrier bearing in my opinion is there to absorb the the out of time motions of the driveshaft, with the U joints not timed/phased the shaft naturally rotates in an elliptical pattern. (or a jump rope pattern)
I tried filling in the area around the carrier bearing, it vibrated worse at higher speeds. I think it needs the rubber to absorb the motion of the driveshaft, so with that, I wonder how the aftermarket center support bearing will do, it's interesting how they used rubber insulators to mount it to the frame.
If it was easier, I would like to see how a properly timed/phased stock driveshaft would work, I called a driveshaft shop back in 2021, when I told him the stock shaft was out of time/phase by a few degrees, he did not think I knew what I was talking about, he said "it must really shake if it is"
Now that my center support bearing is starting to scream under hard throttle, I have to decide what to do, new one piece driveshaft, or another stock bearing, or maybe this new bearing if it works.
