I am kind of shocked that they would not replace it -too many places for moisture intrusion and corrosion issues down the road plus unless they stagger the splices it will not be a hidden repair.
The key factor is going to be - how well does it run and drive? and how many (resplices) are going to be needed for it to be error free? and are there any hidden damages or that are not found yet?

Unknown wire damage (splices and terminal contacts -overheated) or modules & sensors that were shorted from the wire damage.

I'm wondering how much circuit protection is built into the PCM and other modules anymore. I've been thinking about the coil driver, since I ran the truck from remote start for a few minutes before I knew of the damage.

The harness was only $300.00 ? (Much less their cost ) and they paid some technician to repair all those wires ? I would have protested LOUDLY !

Got a call my truck was ready. So went to pick it up and the check engine light popped on as soon as I started it. Service Manager brought out a scanner and no voltage at the cam sensors.
So no truck tonight
They did tell me that the warranty on the repair will be for as long as I own it, so thats good.

Got my truck back on Friday.
The dealer ended up doing an overlay for the cam sensor. Tells me they couldn't figure out where the break was in the harness or they didn't want to unwrap the tape from the damaged part and see which wire wasn't repaired correctly. The squirrel could of got the wire by coil #2 when she chewed that up and got really close to main trunk of the engine harness.

Noticed I'm missing the locking tab on coil 2 and coil 3 seems to have a nick in the black wire. I'll pick up some liquid electrical tape for nick as far as the locking tab maybe I'll just order a pig tail and steal it off of that.

Looking at the repair without pulling the Tesa tape off, it appears they used some type of crimp fittings vs the soldering that I was doing.

Total bill for the repair came out to $1270.00 plus car rental for about 10 days.

I ordered the bittering agent that was posted earlier in this thread. Hope I never have to deal with this crap again.
